Wage can also signal primary stats. Would give him maybe a Cap/Cap (maybe 1 Reliable) Bat/Tech.

He can see the skills but we can't ;). Bottom right there should be a button that'll allow you to reveal the player's skill to others.

Still think 30k would be an overpay unless he's Acc/Acc.

If you have a Good Academy should pop with these type of gains :). Add 20% of that skill's amount if it is Gifted in it, or has Prodigy talent. Also age plays a factor but this is very basic.
