A quick q you guys might be able to help me with:
If I bid on a player, and lose the bidding, do I get back all of the money I put in?
When you're outbid, will return the money to you in case you want to rebid at a higher price.

Also try not to blow all your money on 3-4 stars, try to build a decent all round squad and then look at stars. Good way to build a solid team to start.

Just put this guy up for sale for you. Should be perfect for your team and won't cost you much :)

Yeah like most new teams are advised I'd look for some rel/rel (Bat/Bowl + Tech) 19 y.o and maybe a few 20 y.o who are at least acc/acc. And then one or two older players who might cost a little extra, but they are the ones who carry you through the early stages, ones who are aged 26-28 would be great.

I haven't checked the market lately but the younger players should definitely cost no more than 30k. The extra funds you have each week I'd pump into your Senior Academy, with a little left over for future purchases. You should aim for your 19y.o (soon to be 20) to have at least average experience, I guess because you are new they can be ordinary. For me, when I buy 20 y.o I like them to have at least reasonable experience, but then again I have a much mature team then you do.

Players I've brought in:

Youth
Legh Shuttleworth 19yo Capable bowling Capable technique     25,409 rating  (Paid $2k)
Abdul Shakil 19yo rel batting, capable technique                      28,404 rating  (Paid $15k)

Seniors
Steve Booth 22yo. Rea technique and fielding, capable batting        31,722 rating (Paid $12k)
Phillip Hogg 20yo. Acc bowling, reasonable fielding.                         33,530 rating (Paid $35k)
Naushad Iftikhar 22yo. Capable batting and bowling, Rel technique.  36,804 rating (Paid $20k)
Moses Kiliku 21yo. Acc bowling and technique,                               33,085 rating (Paid $12k)
Ravider Paranjpe 20yo. Rea batting, cap technique.                        24,641 rating (Paid $12k)

Now time to get rid of the dead weight!

JBs-Hawks

You shouldnt be buying anything under Reliable (bat or bowl) and Reliable Technique. You wont Bat/bowl to be as close to equal as your technique as possible.

Phwoar, playing a 20/20. Last over, I'm 9/130 need 5 off two balls to win  :-\

Poo, lost by 2 runs.

:( Unlucky stew.

6 days from today is my next scheduled rage over FTP.

1 PowerBugCC: 11-2 44pts, +3.0017
2 Sectors XI : 11-2 44pts, +2.8994

I play 3rd that rates about 170k, so I'll be playing the absolute best I have. Sectors has got a bot that rates 118k. It's gonna be mighty close. The only difference in our away NRR is that I've given away 30 less runs, overs are the same, so that's one area i need to do well, not let my opponent score 30 more than the bot. As for NRR for, I have faced 4 more overs and have 33 more runs, I think I'll need to outscore Sectors otherwise I'm gone. I'll be batting first if I win the toss, losing the toss against the 50k bot yesterday has hurt alot.

flower I'm nervous now.

The final match of the SOD season (next friday) will be the 100th (for me) and the final SOD match that George Tonge will be playing before I retire him. And for that match, there are some interesting numbers I have figured out. The average time that this XI has been in my squad is 636 days, which is all the way back in season 16, the start of 2012. Tonge himself as of right now has been in my squad 812 days, only less than William Wardlaw (834 days, 27yo). The average purchase price of this XI is $122,638. It rates 195k, and most importantly, (minus Tonge) it'll be playing Division 1 SOD in Season 22. :D

Hey guys got my biggest game in my FTP career tonight to get into Div 2.

Not my usual pitch, playing on a hard. How aggressive batting orders wise would you guys normally go? Its a top of the table clash.

JB, on batting pitches let the batsmen do their job. I would say 1 bat on Agro, 2 at the most. I'd open on A then D from middle order-tail. Good luck!

As JB is about to make an effort to get into Div 2, I'm trying to get past Ash's Aff to promote to Div 3!

Considering the NRR difference it seems unlikely, Ash also has the bottom team next week. Anyone think I have a chance? All really depends if Celonions can beat Ash tonight.
