Yeah he is too young to train power. I usually start training power around 24 or 25.
You should be training him in bowling tech ;)

I agree - you should be focussed on primary training.  Maybe with a fielding pop once a year till you get to reliable.  Should be able to get to out/out primaries with reli fielding by 24/25.  Then you can focus on power

on a flat deck i was cruising to victory with the score 2/213 after 29 overs chasing 306

with 2 set batsmen my middle order crumbled losing 3/24 and then proceeded to lose the game by 36 runs >:(

on a flat deck my opponent bowled 28 overs of spin for an average of 6.4 runs per over
my spinners bowled 16 overs of spin for an average of 8.9 runs per over despite only being out-rated by 44 points >:(
