Taste it now, savour the moment, was nice while it lasted hey Luigi  ;)
Luck will play no part on Sunday versus the fury of the fro!  :D
You absoloutly sure on that one Mc, we shall see.
I am improving, and my T20 tactics are working well. I reckon if I get the toss going my way, i wouldn't be so confident if i were you ;)

Hmm.... What does anyone else think of this  ?

Its an interesting way to think about it.
I will tell you this much, then tell me again what you think.
I am versing a bot 2/3 Youth games. Not making any cash from Youth match attendances. Wins are helping my Supporters. Youth Pulls are not going my way, especially since they either are good enough to make my starting 11, or just so crap they have to be sold. I am low on cash, and i guess focusing on Seniors would make sense.
Any money in this? http://www.fromthepavilion.org/youths.htm?teamId=4943

I would seriously consider this.... but not sure if its the best option.

Well luigi, all i know is that my Senior side would be in a lot better position if i didnt focus on youths, it is also tough keeping both academies at a high level, youths is also much more challenging than seniors, though a bonus is training players the way you like into seniors like a lot of us have done also if you only focused on seniors you should make a profit each week with you academy ;)

@Luigi

Don't invest anything in to your academies.

With only $8k left you don't have many choices.  You need to sell a few players that will make you money and ease your wage bill.  I recommend that you sell at least 2 or 3 out of Armstrong, Herman, Meurant or Else, because between those 4 is $50k in wages.  You are only in Div 5 - you don't need Spec/Spec players.  Accom/Accom should be more than enough to win games - Exp/Exp if you want to win comfortably.

I am winning games in Div 3 with Out/Out and only 2 players with Spec/Spec.  These are my rankings:

Senior One Day   #3 in One Day 3.3
Rankings   Country: 21, World: 393

Twenty20   #2 in Twenty20 3.1
Rankings   Country: 15, World: 286

Once you have some money you can then sell off your best youth till you have 12 left in your squad.  At this point your youth squad doesn't matter.  You make more money from your senior games so you have to focus on them.

You need to bring your wage bill down so that you start making a profit each week - once you work out how much profit you make each week then you can start investing back in your SA.  Remember to see the difference in profit between 3 homes games in one week vs 3 away games in one week.

Build your team up as you move up the divisions.  When you get to Div 4 look for exp/exp or out/out players (or self train) with good secondaries./experience  (feel free to look at my senior squad as they are all open to view)

I should also mention that I have $1mil in my bank account and my transfer balance is in the negative

Total Purchases: $2,864,096
Total Sales: $1,972,600
Average (per purchase): $36,719
Average (per sale): $35,865
Net Balance: ($891,496)
Number of transfers: 133

18 runs for victory and you do this to me???

7.6   W   Kenny to Horton : A great delivery there from Kenny, which nipped back off the pitch and between the bat and pad of Horton.
C. Horton b. C. Kenny 34 (29b 4x4 0x6) SR:117.24

8.1   W   Walsh to Ireland : Ireland didn't seem to pick up the slower ball and played right over the top of it.
S. Ireland b. E. Walsh 41 (25b 4x4 1x6) SR:164.00

I may have newly financially crippled myself :(
Have 100k plus sod, but lose a lot each week. May go very low in funds.
My arcis pretty good, and while an overpay, allows me to stockpile till whenever.

Alrighty then.

So you're saying that because i am in such low divisions, i do not need all the best players, and therefore I could get out of my bad financial situation, by selling of oldies and people who are taking up my wages, in order to lose less money at the Financial Update due to less wages.
In that case, it would make sense to sell Armstrong and Herman as they are 30 and 29 years old respectively, and they are two highest wages to be paid. I will also definitely make a profit out of Herman as i bought him for 8k. I also have a decent backup for each these two.

The next step would be to stay back on my Youth, therefore selling of high wage players, and people who will make money. This would give me more money in the bank, and will lessen the harm done at the Financial update.
In that case, i should sell Shazada, Applethwaite and Bray. Not only are they my highest paid youths, but they have some god stats, and should make money.

So after these two things are done, I would've reduced the money lost at the Financial update due to a number of high waged players sold and i would've gotten a lot of money due to players sold.

The next thing would be to never put any money in my Youth Academy until I have plenty (like over a million) of money to splash around, and to only put money into my Senior Academy once in a while, to prevent it from dying, once i have more than a sufficient amount of money to spend. Then, i would want to take the focus OFF my Youth side, by gradually buying crappy players to make up a team, then sell off everyone else currently in my team. I would then not need to touch Youths for a few seasons. My priority would then be on Seniors, where i would gradually buy players needed.

How's that? Seems like a good plan?
Thanks :)

valkorum

That sounds a lot better Luigi.  Especially considering you are in div 5.  You could roll players with Exp/Exp primaries and they only cost about $6k in wages compared to $12k+ for spec/spec.

Once you start turning over a profit you can start investing back in to your SA but dont overcommit in your spending there.  If the maximum you can spend there keeps you at steady then so be it.

Luigi197

I'll sell my players once i play Roost on sunday ;)

Fletch74

If you sell them now Luigi, they'll still be available to play on Sunday as the game starts at 0:00 FTP time, and therefore you won't have to have them for your finance update.
