8-6 Suited

40.3   W   Raza to Paritosh : Missing off, missing leg, hitting middle halfway up.
D. Paritosh lbw b. M. Raza 9 (12b 1x4 0x6) SR:75.00

End of over 41 (2 runs) - Tickle My Timber(228-7). 59 runs required from 9 overs. RR 5.56 RRR 6.56
J. Johnstone 30 (32b) , P. Kortlang 1 (2b) , M. Raza 6-0-36-2

Until Paritosh went out just then, I had a glimmer of hope. I think I am going to fall short by about 30-35 runs I think.

End of over 43 (5 runs) - Tickle My Timber(235-7). 52 runs required from 7 overs. RR 5.47 RRR 7.43
P. Kortlang 4 (10b) , J. Johnstone 34 (36b) , M. Raza 7-0-41-2

They need to score a hell of a lot faster than this to have a chance in hell. :p

The drinks cart is now making its way onto the field.

   End of over 25 (3 runs) - Feeling Sheepish(175-3). 190 runs required from 25 overs. RR 7.00 RRR 7.60
A. Linton 6 (8b) , W. Shagmeister 27 (28b) , H. Dickson 3-0-7-0

Alex has a long long way to go yet.

End of over 45 (4 runs) - Tickle My Timber(244-8). 43 runs required from 5 overs. RR 5.42 RRR 8.60
G. Hart 0 (0b) , P. Kortlang 8 (13b) , M. Raza 8-0-45-3
44.6   W   Raza to Johnstone : [catch] A loose delivery from Raza pitched wide outside the off stump. Johnstone leans back and cuts hard, ending up with a feather touch and Gill holds on well to a fairly hard chance.
J. Johnstone c C. Gill b. M. Raza 39 (45b 2x4 0x6) SR:86.67

No chance now. Reasonable and average summary batsmen in now with another average summary batsman to come. And need them to get 43 runs in 5 overs. :/

8-6 Suited

End of over 46 (6 runs) - Tickle My Timber(250-8). 37 runs required from 4 overs. RR 5.43 RRR 9.25
P. Kortlang 11 (17b) , G. Hart 3 (2b) , R. Francis 8-0-38-0

It's still do-able but highly unlikely.

46.2   W   Raza to Hart : [catch] Hart has gone for a massive swipe, but has only managed to toe the ball in the air straight to Samuels at mid-on.
G. Hart c R. Samuels b. M. Raza 3 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR:75.00

Now it's possible but extremely unlikely. :D

46.6   W   Raza to Kortlang : When playing a forward defensive, it's important to keep the bat and pad together as they say. Well... they should definitely say to Kortlang, schoolboy error and the stumps are re-arranged.
P. Kortlang b. M. Raza 15 (21b 1x4 0x6) SR:71.43

That is 5 wickets for Raza!

End of over 47 (4 runs) - Tickle My Timber(254-10). 33 runs required from 3 overs. RR 5.40 RRR 11.00
S. Rogers 0 (0b) , M. Raza 9-0-49-5

WOOOHOOOO BROKE 170k! But was still out-rated by 12k and didn't lose by much.

I'm happy with this game. It shows I can be competitive against higher up players.

43.2   W   Doolan to Shagmeister : Ouch! A great inswinging yorker crashes into Shagmeister's back foot. They all go up in a huge appeal and finally the umpire's finger goes up. Interestingly, not only does the replay show that was going well down leg side, it also shows Shagmeister had limped nearly a whole leg bye before the finger went up. Insult to injury...
W. Shagmeister lbw b. G. Doolan 82 (75b 6x4 0x6) SR:109.33

Sayers picked up another wicket 5-6 overs ago, now Doolan gets one. This wicket leaves Alex in a lot of trouble however.

43.6   W   Doolan to Jackson : Doolan musters up all the effort he can and fires in a toe crusher. Jackson obliges by getting himself in line with the stumps and the umpire raises his finger.
P. Jackson lbw b. G. Doolan 18 (24b 0x4 0x6) SR:75.00

While that wicket just absolutely cripples his chances.

End of over 44 (5 runs) - Feeling Sheepish(277-7). 88 runs required from 6 overs. RR 6.30 RRR 14.67
S. Junior 0 (0b) , M. Pritchard 1 (1b) , G. Doolan 7-0-63-2

Looks like GS, the FF Giant Killer, has done it... AGAIN.

44.5   W   Dickson to Junior : There's a noise as that goes through to Allen and Dickson turns and appeals. Glove? Bat? Junior's arthritic wrists playing up? Doesn't matter, umpire says it's out.
S. Junior c D. Allen b. H. Dickson 0 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00

Dickson, Chris' best bowler economically anyway, takes another.

End of over 45 (4 runs) - Feeling Sheepish(281-8). 84 runs required from 5 overs. RR 6.24 RRR 16.80
M. Pritchard 2 (2b) , K. Srimal 3 (1b) , H. Dickson 8-0-26-2

45.4   W   Doolan to Srimal : [catch] Short of a good length delivery on the stumps, Srimal makes room and takes a swing. The ball clips the top edge and balloons up to mid-on.
K. Srimal c S. McBourne b. G. Doolan 4 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR:100.00

One to go now.

45.5   2 W   Doolan to Pritchard : [runout] Oooh, a terrible mix up there with both batsmen ending up at the same end of the pitch.
M. Pritchard run out (H. Dickson) 5 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR:125.00

lol Done and sorted the next ball with a run out by who other than Dickson.

   End of over 46 (4 runs) - Feeling Sheepish(285-10). 80 runs required from 4 overs. RR 6.20 RRR 20.00
A. Sodumo 0 (0b) , G. Doolan 7.5-0-67-3

My Thoughts: Very close rating match between these 2 guys, but the total put up by Mushangazike and Campbell was simply too much. Alex's inability, or better put his bowlers, to take a wicket and break the partnership allowed them to post a massive total.

Alex started strong, slowed down a little for 2-4 overs then went bang again getting at points 1-1.5 runs above the RRR. However, the problem was always going to be maintaining that lead. Vincent out, a few wickets down soon after and it became too much, dropping off a lot in the final couple of bowling spells to be basically down and out with 10 to go.

A lot of that credit has to go to Dickson, who bowled his first spell fantastically cheap.

Man of the Match: Donald Campbell.

A fantastic knock of 181 deserves this title. Almost looked certain of making 200, his 281 run partnership with Mushangazike was great watching and by far, set this win up.

Shaggy Mushangazike

As above for Campbell, only it was an extremely solid knock, the guiding hand, of 117.

Darren Vincent

Alex's last hope, only made 90 but it was an inspired knock under tough circumstances.

Yes, I watched the entire match as mine was on. And I am that bored I have done this review lol

Cicjose

my second highest scorer was the extras column. :(

hello could have bowled better

roo boys!

Alex7089

I outrated him and got smashed :(
My seam bowling easily outrated him as well with 4 absolute GUNS in that lineup, yet Srimal was the only one to take wickets ::)
You are right Shaggy, this man can not be beaten on a flat wicket/by an FF member o.O

roo boys!

He is just killing FF members left right and centre.

DazBurg

i've gotta play him on sunday in the india cup on a crumbling wicket :-\

Alex7089

I probably shouldn't have played the better batsman in Jackson over the better bowler in Ramiah, but... I just don't know what to do, I know my 4 seamers will play each week but I have no clue what spinner to play :( I'll just have to go on pitches...

HillHero13

i have HP on sunday, and pretty much all the players i have leading bids on finish then :(

well most of them anyway.

Fletch74

Why did you put a bid on Horan Hilly? He'll be on your transfer list because you bid on him earlier. No need to bid on him again, you only bump his price up.

Wait til the death until you put another bid on him. Rookie mistake mate....

HillHero13

oh right, i thought i didn't have a bid, damn! i need a AWESOME youth pull one day so i can get some money :D

Fletch74

You did, I outbid you early yesterday, so that he would be on my list...

HillHero13

you can have him, i have a huge Current Transfer list.
