and you call us bogans.

- Carlton are better because we don't have supporters like this, people who's lives are the football team they support, sad really.

- Carlton 16 Premierships, Collingwood 15.

- In the last 50 years, Collingwood have won two premierships, Carlton have won 8.  Collingwood were a powerhouse side in 20's when players were war vets who played cricket and wanted to keep fit.

- Carlton are better because we are not looked down upon and hated.

- Carlton are better because we haven't lost 27 Grand Finals, we are not chokers.

Late to the party I know.

There's 5 reasons why Carlton is better, at least my reasons were real.

Wow it's taken 16 pages on this thread before Junktimer finally took the bait.

Dougie my congratulations on the use of 'introverted bogan', very nice.

Junktimer

yeah I tried to hold back.

Cruise are you going to respond to my comment or take sense and admit defeat?

Carlton do have supporters like this, every team does. Collingwood have more just because we have more supporters across the board :)

Carlton 3 Spoons, Collingwood 2 :) Collingwood more wins than any other team. Yes, you have more premierships, but perhaps not for long.

Carlton have won 7 in last 50 years. Should be ashamed trying to count 1995 as a win. If it was Collingwood cheating, I wouldn't count it.

The Pies were a Powerhouse in the 1920s. Just about the toughest time this country has had to do. They were a symbol of the working class spoken in the same breath as Bradman and Pharlap. Whereas Carlton were silver spoon boys. The 20s were a time when players would play with injuries just so that they could get their match-payments to feed there families, yeah, that's so much worse than "general soreness" attitude of today.

Carlton are hated, and every non-Carlton supporter LOVED those 3 spoons you won recently.

And I fail to see the logic that the fact that Collingwood have almost lost more Grand Finals (25, not 27) than Carlton have been in (29) as evidence that you're greater, lol. Yes, we choked sometimes. But you can't choke unless you were the better team ;)

Junktimer

I was happy with the three spoons recently, we got three guns for it.

1979 spoon earnt you shower all.  As did 99, where you picked up Josie Fraser and Danny Roach (ROFL) with your picks 1 and 7, Richmond esque.

1906, 1907, 1908, 1914, 1915, 1938, 1945, 1947, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1995.  We won in 95, and how you construe it means squat.

Carlton may be disliked, but are not looked on with shear hatred, (apart from Collingwood and Essendon), see here http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,23302.msg279585.html#msg279585

Collingwood is hated by all.

Collingwood's 25 Grand Final losses are a sign of failure, Malcolm Blight once said:

Losing a Grand Final is like dancing with your sister.

So claim them if you please.

I love that even the most one eyed supporters can't even rebut to the fact that you have won 2 premierships in the last 50 years!

At least we made it to the dance :) 25 losses is BAD. Don't you worry, well aware of that. Striving to be better and to make up for it. Just saying, claiming that 40 top 2 finishes makes a team crap, is well, simply ludicrous :)

But...

Ends your argument. That is why Collingwood are better than Carlton. We don't brag about coming last.

Carlton fans were happy to come last. My how you've fallen.

Junktimer

how somebody feels about their team's placing for the year doesn't reflect the club.  cmon ossie.

I know many who weren't happy with the spoons, thats just me.

Carlton 16, Collingwood 15.  THAT ends the argument.

Cruiseon

Carlton 16? Why would you want to brag about your Premiership drought? Strange these Carlton supporters. Over a decade without even one tiny finals win, in a comp where 50% make the finals, seems to have distorted their view.

To be honest Junktimer i think you just don't get it (or you haven't read to 220 posts in this thread) but I reckon even the Dogs are a better club than Carlton. Nothing to do with flags, just the way they offer support and leadership to their community. They are in fact part of their community whereas Carlton have never cared, John Elliot Park is an example, corrupt, trying to beat the system, cheating. The community were irrelevant.

However you enjoy your flags from yesteryear if you can remember them or you can pull out the old Betamax tape and have a look. Meanwhile down at Collingwood we are simply comfortable being the undisputed reigning Premiers.

So now where not a helping club?  you guys are getting pretty desperate.

If you must know, my mother works at a school for intellectually disabled children, and Carlton send down to players every year to run clinics and teach those kids how to play the game.  Last year Chris Judd and Jarrad Waite were the two.

I don't see how Collingwood do any more community work or how they offer more leadership to the community than Carlton.  Such claims are just unfounded and illogical.

Your wrong JT, Collingwood supporters often get community service ;)
