neither do I but hate the idea of going sideways to see him get 130+, he is useless when he gets tagged. If Chappy or Ablett get within shooting range I may see enough upside to shunt him out just cause I don't want him anymore!

Absolute hack. Can't handle a tag. He has really disappointed me this year and cost me a few games. I won't be trading him unless Ablett drops enough so I can do a straight swap or until finals.

I mean, Bateman is on the way down...it's just that Stanton seems to have this psychological block that even if I was tagging him he wouldn't handle it.  I think the Bombers should be on the phone to the Gold Coast and see if they can get some juicy draft picks for him.

Agreed ronl, some players are just very tagable. Shaw's another example, put a cardboard cutout of Ling next to him or Stanton and they just don't get near the footy....Trouble is Stanton is one of my unqiues so the fortunes of my team can rest in the balance of his performance against other strong sides (this round).
Oh well I should have known better :'(

Well said; he's an outside player (similar to Shaw as hardnut mentioned) and therefore very taggable.

He started the season on fire, he was a unique pick andi was loving life... Hope he comes good cos i dont have enough trades/money to waste upgrading him.   Tag or no tag he just had an average game imo

Knights wont offer protection because he knows Stanton isn't going to win him many games. He'd rather have Watson run free and win hard ball all night.

It's more I think about the young Bombers team and Knights tactical inexperience.
Look at Geelong and the way the structure sets to provide GAJ with blocks and open the lines for him. GAJ is almost untaggable when Cats structure is right, many try but rarely succeed.
This comes from a core of men, understanding and autonomously knowing what their team is doing around them.
It will come for Essendon and for Stanton as their core develops.
