Ok I am really starting to get the jist of SC...being my first year. I have read the scoring page over and over but this does not account for real live time game. I have noticed it depends on live game play...accuracy and also where a player sits on the ladder in terms of $$ AND at what point in the game the points are score as in 1/4 2/4 3/4 etc...what a head spin.

I know my foooty players in and out do not think I do not understand the game...but SC is such a great challenge when it comes to picking your team...

any tips guys?

When it all comes down to it, all you are doing is comparing averages of players, it doesn't matter how it is scored.

Basically lots of disposals are good, but being effective is better (effective kicks, contested marks, etc) and ineffective stats can crucify your team.

in the backline, go for guys who have a great boot (e.g gilbee, hurn and drummond). no KPP. guys who run out of defence usually score well (duffield and gilbert)
midfielders: choose the guys who are young and on the rise (selwood, pendles and gibbs) and guys who get alot of contested ball (montagna, hayes and cross).
Rucks: mobile rucks and tap rucks seem good options here (kreuz, sandi and Hmac)
forwards: no KPP usually (buddy and fev accepted). small midfield type players seem good options (chappy, dids and higgins). brown and roo are great as they take alot of contested marks = higher scores.

this is just a quick rundown and brief analysis.

I love SC over DT, but this is the part of SC that does my head in. Eg Davis scored massive because he kicked the "winning" goal against Melbourne, but why should hsi goal be worth any more than any other goal, cos if any other pies player missed their goal Melb would have won the match!

This is something that does confuse a lot of people but I basically bring it down to this -
Momentum points, the game was close in the last quarter so there are a lot of SC points up for grabs, everything positive a player does might be worth more then earlier in the match. Say for example X scores 20 points in the first three quarters and his team is behind by 5 goals at 3 qtr time. If X scores 4 goals and racks up 15 possessions in the last quarter and wins his team the match then he will have massive SC. If a different player did the same thing at the beginning of the match he wouldn't get as many points. If a team dominates and wins the match easily starting strong whoever played well in the first quarter will score well. Basically whoever plays well while his team wins the match will score very well, while things like Junk Time which are valuable in DT will not score nearly as much in SC.

My Midfield needs work. I know there are alot of new players elevated coming in ..yes I have Barlow..but I am not sure who to trade..here is my Midfield that is letting me down.

8. Barlow, Michael     139
   9. Swan, Dane (Capt)    186 - This is a no brainer he had a one off stuff up..I won't trade him
   10. Shuey, Luke    41 - Ok I swapped him from EMG for Lewis Jetta this week they pretty much scored the same.
   11. Redden, Jack    65
   12. Robinson, Mitch    59
These two are my let down
   13. Armitage, David    114

I would prefer Jetta week in week out as I know he melds well with Goodes. So I am not fussed on this spot. He will either become a cash cow or just get better every week. I think the latter. To take the interview with Goodes on Jetta that means a lot to me. Goodes loves him.

Please help you SC FREAKS lol.

Hellopllz you think Adam Selwood would be a nice trade?

I only need one trade here, as I bought Judd before round 1 and he is on my bench for round 4

DWEBBY5

you need more skill for supercoach
DT rewards inaffective kicks or turnover GAY
just  again you need more skill as the points the do could eaither be +20 in 1 play or -8
big difference to DT as you only get - when a FA has happen

He looks to be a good pick up. wins alot of contested ball which is great for sc. won't get a tag and should do well again this year. if you don't have to double trade to get him, it seems like a good trade.

redden and robinson were chosen likely just to gain cash. wouldn't expect 100's every week from them. a couple of high scores should be enough for them to gain 100k at least to be upgraded.

i think the cream of the crop in SC really are the top scoring players. u gotta have a selected few in this game in order to succeed miss pies.. by the way i think u are in one of  my leagues - u are vampies FF yea??
anyway, players who kick it out of D50 and conversely into the F50 tend to score well as well - wingman (true wingman that is not where they are named) score poorly/can score poorly. mids look for clearances a.selwwod may be a good one, a bit unique as well, not sure he'll be keeper tho, infact u may even want to bring in a rookie for those 2nd year players u have there, due to the fact i don't think u will be able to bring in a keeper just based on the value of the cattle u have already in ur team. maybe one out for a rookie (howlet or one with best BE) and upgrade the other for a nice priced prem - cooney or even boak maybe??

Torress

i mean cream of the crop being the high priced players!!

SCADDICT

Bloody hell, sounds liek a waste of money MP, your supposed to make your money by downgrading during the year, should of used that cash before round 1.
