Although hype and speculation surrounds the intermediating combination of Brown and Fevola, when it counts it won’t necessarily come down to one of these players.

Some will argue clear evidence opposing this argument was shown against the Blues when Brown lead from the front and carried his team with him to a 19 point win. But against quality defence, when the impact of the twin towers may be diluted it will be how the middle tier players step up. The most important of these middle tier players will be Brent Staker.

Voss will and has used Staker up forward as a third tall target, but his also capable of drifting to defence, nullifying an opponent and even running through the mid-field. But it will be his impact up forward that will count most. Most defences will invest time in stopping Brown and Fevola, Staker will go unnoticed and he should receive a favourable match-up. Staker to date has contributed 1.4 (West Coast) and 1.1 (Carlton) which suggests he is getting opportunities. If he can continue this and perhaps average an extra goal per game, he would’ve easily fulfilled his role within the team and successfully contributed.

This wasn't written in a fantasy sense. More from the point of view from a keen lions fan

he was kind of a little of a fringe player for the eagles. if he can keep up that goal a game like you said, lions would be more than happy with his recruitment. he'll get maybe 22 goals for the season but i'm worried about how many points he'll get ;D. 1.4 could be a lot better.
not to mention will have to keep a spot in. voss has a load of young players waiting for a game.

Staker played well, but not in dream team.
