Do you supercoaches out there have an overall plan or are you just winging it? Are there certain players you are hoping to trade in (for example traded in a 550k player for a 300k player) once cash cows make a bit.

essendon

Its hard to have a set plan as you dont know how some players are going to go and how much ur cash cows are going to make and so all supercoaches have to be very leanient with plans as u can never be sure.

I have a plan, but only for the next 6 or so weeks.

The further you plan ahead, the more difficult it is to predict what will happen and therefore likelihood of your plan failing increases.

Have a direction in mind, but don't be afraid to change it as you go as you will more than likely have too. That and remember that trades are gold.

kazam

yeah that is true... i am just sort of getting a rough idea of what i would like to happen... but yes it is dependant on vaues, barring injuries and ridiculously poor form, i have my keepers that i wont be looking to trade out, but then got some i will be looking at trading out, i would like to maybe trade walker out for judd before he goes up in price, walker would need to push up to 350k and i'd have to trade out say howlett or schuey down to a youngen who is at 100k, 94k or 83k... but yeah just a rough overview at the moment.

kazam

yes i know trades are valuable, and i am not going to use any this week, maybe one next week or week after IF and ONLY IF i need to... 2205, without franklin (had roberts' 15points as his replacement) and a couple of 50's (Clark/Moore) I am quite happy with the boys. If i got 2205 every week id be happy... but yeah i have a general direction, such as what i mentioned, bringing in someone like Judd for Walker, but i dont have a set plan.

I guess my overall plan is to gain as many keepers as possible, leave the rookies for as long as possible (provided they are making money and not falling down the other side of the apex). Use the least amount of trades as possible, providing there aren't too many LTI's.
I'm keen on getting Judd after round 3, and maybe getting Swan in after rookies make a bit of dosh.
Obviously each position in my team will need a few up-grades, but I will hopefully have selected a good overall spread to get a couple of keepers from the cheaper players.
So all going to plan, I'll have a team of keepers by the finals, with a handful of trades in hand.

kazam

yep.. and save the trades for injuries basically by the time u have 22 (hopefully) keepers. would be good to hit finals with what me/you call 22 keepers and have 4 to 6 trades in the bank.

Wastelander

Yeah, pretty much, even 20 keepers would be good. Though we all know how good plans get effed up pretty quickly.

kazam

yep... a few LTI's in the one week... the worst is when you just get someone in and they get injured.... i got in josh drummond last year when he was in good form, first wk i hadhim he scored 81 (his worst score for the season at that point). the nxt week he hurt his calf or quad or whatever he did and scored 4 and was out for a few weeks.

Wastelander

LOL, That's the beauty of the game mate. You never know hey.

Did anyone make it a plan to leave as much money in the bank as possible?

i did my forward line was the likes of dangerfield, medhurst, ziebell and ballantyne, hall...i had 300k in the bank but it just didnt look right having 2 premiums in each then having my forward line look like that

I was planning on judd inn the moment he comes back but am going to have to save the trades until round 5 and see what happens

kazam

i didnt leave much money in the bank... hoping to make money of my cash cows. didnt purposley use up all my money. just got the best team i could together

left 96k or so. have 4 top notch premiums up forward for me. but to do this, have to play 4 rookies on field.

my plan is to bolt mid season and at least make a top 10,000 ranking like last year. will probably change as i have alot to do mid year :'(
