I have Ablett and Chapman.
My reasoning is that whenever Ablett doesn't play Chappy explodes so yeah.
Also VC doesn't matter unless your captain is under a cloud and might pull out, I always name one because it makes me feel as though my team is complete although not essential.

I'll probably have Chappy as captain and Dal Santo or Selwood as vice.

i'm backing chappy and hoping he scores the 150 he owes me from round 1.

Yeah chappy should be able to do well against the hawkers, owes me as well, was cut that he didn't make it to the ton.

Swan will be my perma capt. He is untaggable and an absolute ball magnet + kicks goals. No ablett in my team at the moment

Would you consider Barry Hall as captain in Round 2, Bulldogs play Richmond, Tigers dont have anyone that can stop Hall i dont believe, should rack up a big score. I had Ablett in round 1 but tougher game for the Cats against Hawtorn next week.

really risky putting hall as captain. vsing the tigers but i don't like having KPP as captains. can either be great or bomb.

got me thinking ziggyten, maybe boyd might get captaincy duties this week for me.

I had Ablett in round 1 but tougher game for the Cats against Hawtorn next week.

Our number 1 tagger in Sewell isn't playing. Even with a tight tag Ablett still scores well. Only 3 games last year he scored under 100 why would you look to anyone else to captain your side. I personally am going with Barlow as captain.

Not so sure about Boyd, the most consistent player in the league (arguably) but not always capable of the amazing 160 that will be worthy of your 'C'.
I suppose the Richmond effect could change it though. Thinking Hall should get a higher return than 60 against tiges but don't think KPP should be captain as HP said.

There are going to be weeks when you think 'Dam! I wish I had Riewoldt as captain instead of Ablett'. Then there will be weeks when Ablett scores 200+ and you don't want to be saying 'Why the f@#* did I choose Hall (or whoever it maybe) as captain'.

The only time I look to another captain is when Ablett isn't playing and my second choice is Swan. Topped the charts for disposals last year he's guaranteed to give you something.

I agree in principle with sticking to say Ablett as the captain, but so will most, sometimes ithough i think it is worth a risk to jag a few extra points (in exeptional circumstances) to seperate yourself from the pack, it seems most are intereted in playing it safe which is what i was interested in hearing

Yeah I think at least if you always stay with Ablett you cn't regret it because sometimes he may be 20 points lower than highest scorer but otherweeks he'll be 60 points higher than second best scorer.
Most consistent player, highest scoring player, perma-captain.
