My initial worry with Tsatas, and the reason I thought he was a trap, Parish is a couple weeks away which pushes him further down that midfield rotation.

The one positive, you would think he is behind Merrett, Caldwell, Durham in that CBA rotation, he actually had 20 which is two more than Merrett and Durham in limited game time.

Mat0369

I was able to watch 0 games again and just catching up on scores now. What the f'ing F!

It looks like Roberts came back to save a potential disaster. Ryan had his worst round 1 since 2022 (the last time I had him and started him) and scored a 66. Paton was subbed on 43, Perryman had a whopping 62. Sheez was my captain and it looks like he also came back to score a 106.

Mids were worse. Lachie Neale.......what a disaster. Ashcroft and O'Sullivan were both bad, lucky I brought Levi in (hopefully he doesn't get subbed) and Knevitt was on my bench.

Parker a disappointing 69, Daniel okay with 81, Davidson awful with a 39 and SPP the worst of the lot with an 18!

I don't think I'm going to crack 2k, shower, I might not crack 1900

Savage round, but fortunately everything is a fixable with some immediate action. I think in the case of Perryman it's time to move, any player from Sicily, Stewart or Dale would be a much better bet.

Powell-Pepper also needs to go, can't even sideways to Lynch with the suspension so need to get Kako to fill that spot.

Ringo

Yep savage Round I have 6 players with less than 60.  SPP who I also have has to go or sit on bench,
I did not bring Levi back in as waiting to see whether he will be subbed in future strong mids to break into. Maybe a straight swap for Tsatas.

Round 1

Score: 2003
Rank: 83,752
Round Rank:  83,752
Cash: $73,900

Good: Zorko, Roberts, O'Driscoll, L. Ashcroft, Lalor, Knevitt, TDK, Macrae, Smith, Flynn
Pass: Sheez, Boyd, Daniel
Bad: Prior, Trac, Oliver, Camporeale, Meek, Parker, Lynch, Stone
Ugly: Ryan, Perryman, Paton, W. Ashcroft, O'Sullivan, Tsatas, Davidson
Burn it all down: Leake, Neale, SPP

This was an absolute disaster round. Not a single mid cracked the ton, I'm the kiss of death on a couple of players I brought in like Luke Ryan where he has never performed well when in my side. Rookies were the shambles and I'm trying to work out which ones I'm missing. Right now I think I may make two moves, BE's pending.

Leake to Trainor and maybe Perryman to someone like Bowey, especially if May is out a while. He and Salem have a nice floor as the kick-in guys in the interim. The cash on a downgrade may allow me to upgrade Ashcroft the next week if I need to. It also gives me a second look at a lot of the rookies before I jump the gun, the scoring is volotile and it's not about chasing points after a week.

Given the Neale fiasco I reckon you did ok to hit 2000, many plonked the C on him so that was one landmine avoided. I would say hold Neale and focus on Perryman, either down to SDK or up to Sicily/Stewart/Dale.

Mat0369

I'm tempted to do the following

Leake > Trainor (think I do this regardless)
SPP > Warner
Perryman > Stewart/Dale

That means I have just Prior on field down back, Lindsay and Hall may be the only two rookies I'm really missing and I get some cash gen out of Warner right away

Mat0369

Otherwise Perryman down to Bowey is another option

Or just hold Perryman one more week

I think moving Perryman on is the right play. All those choices are good. I would hold Leake though for this week. The only other DEF rookie that'll change price this week is Paton, who you have. Basically gives you a free shot to look at all of them and see who could be best

Ringo

Are you comfortable holding Lynch for the week.

In two minds on SPP whether to give another week to see if he can improve,  Plays Tigers so if he spuds then adjust next week.

Your choice though whether to trade.  This may be the one time the golden rule do not trade after 1 round may be broken.

I would need to do Leake to Trainor to be able to afford Dale. I think I'm okay with backing in Trainor's JS for the time being as a slow burn at D8.

I feel like I may need all 3 trades next week as well with O'Sullivan, Tsatas, Neale, Ryan, Parker and W. Ashcroft all struggling round 1. I'm expecting most to bounce back, but it's handy having the extra trade up my sleeve if I need it.

Lynch looked much better after QT against Carlton. I also have a full squad this week, so I'm not needing to trade donuts to get to 18.

It should be an easy matchup for SPP, but scoring 18 is a bit of a killer. I think I'd rather take the instant cash and back Lynch

Mat0369

So with Flynn out I have brought SPP back in. He hangs on for another week. This is what I was thinking for trades

Flynn > Warner
Leake > Trainor
Perryman > Stewart

I really should have gone Dale but that's how it fell. Now that I have traded out Flynn that has opened up another couple of options. I could go with Holmes, Clark or Sinclair instead. So my other options are

Sinclair + 18.8k
Clark + 47.3k
Holmes + 77.1k
Stewart + 90k

Colliwobblers

Stewart and the cash probably the right call given what else we might need to move on.

Sinclair is a notorious slow starter, I'm leaving him for later in the season when he usually hits top gear. I'd be grabbing Holmes, I think the DPP will give you some excellent coverage when we eventually get a DPP rookie nailing down a spot in the midfield.
