This thread is dedicated to recognising the achievements of players, coaches and teams alike for the season gone by!

I simply don't have the time to run this on a relied upon schedule. I'll do it when I have the mental energy to do so over the next period of time.

My intention is to drip feed this information when I can, and hopefully wrap it up sooner rather than later.

In terms of average points per player, this would have to be one of the stronger All-Reserves teams in recent memory. All players averaged between 68-76, with the most (3) coming from Copacabana.

La Plata claims both the Captain and Vice Captain of the team, with the latter edging out Judd McVee based solely on highest individual score in an otherwise identical average and games played.

La Plata also had the Captain of last years team, with Lachie Ash now a key cog in the premiership defence.

Special mention to McCartin and Hayward for making their 3rd consecutive All-Reserves team!

I proudly present the 2024 WXV Coach of the Year!

2024 will be remembered for two things... a massive divide between the top 8 and the bottom 10, but an incredibly competitive and even top 8.

As a result, we saw many of the top 8 coaches receive an official nomination for COTY, because they each had to orchestrate significant improvement.

It stands to reason then, that significant improvement is to be recognised in this years COTY, and we actually have a tie for the honour!

The first joint winner of the award goes to... Kilbluff1985 (and assistant coach SilverLions)!

It simply had to be, didn't it? The dynamo at India pivoted from a 136ppg averaging team over the first 7 rounds, to an (near) unstoppable 153ppg meance to claim EurAsia coaching honours, World Idol and most importantly, the 2024 WXV Premiership.

Stacked with a defence and midfield that can explode at any moment, KB and SL shook off the early loss of Angus Brayshaw, and had the luxury of choosing which guns to leave out of the side most weeks... even daring to field a train-on forward (Ginbey) in a final, and it paying off!

In a year where many teams were flexing their muscles, New Delhi silenced them all in a coaching performance that is to be commended and celebrated.


Our second joint-winner rose from the proverbial ashes in 2023 to post a whopping 5-win improvement in 2024! Congratulations to Nige for overseeing the biggest (wins) improvement in the comp, off the back of a patient list build that begun the bear fruit.

From stoically defending overtures for its Pick 2 last year, to backing in stalwarts ANB, Worrel and Ed Richards, the coach inspired its players to finally deliver on their patient investment, which looks set to continue in 2025.

Well done on a much improved 2024 Nige, a deserving joint winner of the 2024 Coach of the Year.
