I don't think anyone is expecting 162 every week, that score is an outlier but it also indicates a high ceiling, scores like this may occur 2-3 times a year, certainly not the norm but good players pull it off a few times a season. Sicily has actually had a very normal year apart from registering a monster score, ditto Stewart, both these guys still have the opportunity to correct the ledger in the run home.

As I posted earlier, Ridley has averaged 114 in his past 11 matches, those numbers place him in elite company. With eight 100+ scores you can't just write this season off as an outlier event, particularly when one of his sub 100 scores was tracking for a ton.

Since his early subbing in 2023 when he scored 18 he has produced elite numbers -

122
130
102
108
137
78
80 (subbed at 3/4 time)
88
138

2024

162
111

Average 114.2

Ridley isn't exactly safe from injury but he's about to hit parity with all the remaining defenders on the board which makes him safe in terms of an easy sideways trade in the event he gets injured again. I'd say in the scheme of things there's more chance Sicily gets suspended or Sinclair gets shifted around the park or McGovern reverts back to type.

Jordan Clark has looked good but jumping from an 85 average to 115 probably a bit beyond him, I maybe wrong but with Ryan the main man you would be risking the biscuit with 2 Dockers in defence.

If people were bringing in Salem for cash, Ridley can be used for similar purposes as an absolute worst case scenario. BE of 33 should see him up around 580k and with a solid floor (injury aside) he should stay there for the duration of the season.

With Dowling named and Crouch out I may do the unthinkable and dive in head first without a sighter, risky for sure but a reasonable gamble based on Adelaide's ladder position and Dowling's SANFL form.

Aleer looking doubtful so may need to rejig a little, McNeill or Morris still options.

Well, as a Crows supporter, I hope Dowling gets a good look at it, but with Berry, Shoenberg etc circling for a spot in the mids rotation he'll want to perform well to stay in the mix. but with Crouch u and Dawson suspect it's a good opportunity for him.

I was also looking at Aleer for cash gen as opposed to W.Dawson, still not sure which downgrade to go with this week.

Maybe too risky? McMullin looks shaky, I need a cheap solution, or maybe I just pay up for a 200k option.

I think perhaps Logan Morris is the best bet, he plays in the killer rounds, -33 BE and has consistently hit the scoreboard. Good hands, one touch mark, I think he holds his place.

See what the Lions do this week with Hipwood and Starcevich back.  If Morris stays with Hipwood recalled then sound selection. with a strong B/E and if he averages 60 - 70 as he has in his 2 games not as sub will make nice cash.

Bully

All the rookies apart from Aleer are sub risks, I will defer this decision for a day and wait for the final squads to be announced.

Screwed up my trades, risked the biscuit on McMullin and he's sub, nevermind, hopefully the extra 65k can be put to good use next week.

Two more injuries from the game and two in the VFL apparently, hopefully McMullin gets more games/game time. So many injuries this season.

Not a terrible week, 1912 pushed me up to 26k which I'll take, quite a few holes opening up in the midfield which I may attempt to fix next week but being down to 6 trades I don't think I can go full flip mode, I think F6 is still a worry and that may have to take priority. Comben is probably on his last legs so moving up to Fisher a sound enough trade. I still get a swing set which also allows me some flexibility with Sexton.

Currently 18 starters, if there's an emergency I'll hold Comben and trade Sexton. Not expecting wonders with only 12 prems but I'm guessing there will be others in the same boat.

Mat0369

Fish missed the end of the game with a phantom injury, I probably wouldn't take the risk on him at 520k unless I'm certain he is starting. He will be one to monitor through the week and the injury reports.

You've been a big advocate for Jackson, surprised you're not going for him this week and then looking at Rankine post the Crows bye.

Jackson has a high BE so Sexton to Jackson was the plan, with Fisher being the new swingman. If Fisher isn't fit I may bring in Jackson a week early, there's also still room for Rankine, my forward line still very weak with Freijah at F6.

Bully

I think Fisher suffered a bit of cramp, looks to be good to go. McKercher close but with Comben looking frail I have to get an upgrade and I'm not in a great position with cash generation. Fisher still poses a risk but all the forwards are volatile and he at least can be swung back if Aleer stumbles.

Sexton getting leather poisoning but butchering the ball, I think Powell probably takes the seagull role, at 400k the next week or two will be the selling window, I think I'd rather have ruck cover in the run home.

arbel

Yeah the ruck cover should take priority if your trades are low or looking to run out. Otherwise a Rankine/Fisher would be good to get. Thinking Rankine will come back after their bye next week so that is the time to get if you can maneuver the cash and trades to work

With 6 trades I think I can squeeze in Jackson & Rankine, that's effectively a full team with 2 injury trades left.

The last 2 trades I'll either hold or risk it with Sullivan up to Rozee, that gives me effective cover on all lines.
