Quote from: Bully on June 23, 2024, 10:08:45 PMI think Salem hurt his knee.

He was icing it but they said it was a tactical sub on the coverage. AFL Match Report is awful for injury news now, it always has nil for injuries even when players have been injured.

Hopefully you're good to go, if not he's an easy sideways trade. Oliver on the bench is ok, if he's M9 you might get the best of both worlds working in tandem with Rozee.

Not a bad team at all, the idea of Salem covering mid and def lines is enticing.

I'm maybe inclined to hold the trades for injury / form slump rather than cover, or use them when the cover is required and max our rookie growth in the meantime.

But the Yeo upgrade from now is not a bad move at all rather than the same $$$ roughly camped on your bench.

I would even go straight up to Sinclair, same scoring ability as Yeo without the injury concerns.

I like the look of Yeo too, I started with him and traded when injured, so have currently gone with Sinclair instead as this weeks trade :)

Bont in doubt with a back injury suffered at training

Mat0369

I'm trying to work out how I cover Salem this week. I have a few options

1. Play Fisher in the backline and field one of Dowling/Richards
2. Trade one of Clark/Reid/Dawson to Schoenmaker and field him
3. Oliver to Caldwell/Rivers or Short/Vlastuin
4. Clark to El-Hawli and Oliver to any Forward/Defender I don't own

Colliwobblers

I'd do what you were probably going to do anyway rather than something completely different.

Schoenmaker is the one that jumps out as likely next weeks trade anyway.

Don't mind the Caldwell  trade not sure on the defender trade in option 3 would be good cover but bit of a waste with Salem back and if Schoenmaker keeps playing at a much cheaper price for cover.

I'd field the rookie, Richards if he isn't sub, before doing something that you really don't want to.

Shoey should be adequate and we're all probably going to bring him in, the only risk is he gets dropped next week, that's something you need to be prepared for. The Port rookie may also be viable so holding off gives you the best options in the long run.

Clark to El-Hawli and Oliver to Sinclair looks like a decent play, that would also give you the option of trading Salem if the knee is an ongoing issue.

Bingo! I figured I may not be able to loop him on so I may as well trade him.

Thank f he stopped because he was on track for a 150. I'm hoping Yeo has a great game because that's who I ended up bringing in. Basically it would have been try to loop Oliver and Rozee (which meant still doing Clark down for a loop) while fielding Richards or bring in Yeo/Houston/Ryan and field him over Richards.

I've gone with Yeo for now because I want the DPP swing if Bont is a late out. It means I can still do Yeo to the midfield, Fisher back and Richards on. It gives me some protection if Dowling is the sub (although Richards could also get the vest). Sinclair is another one I like but I think I rather have the 84k in the bank and the DPP swing for the time being if I need to make any sideways moves.

Yeo lost his father this week, not sure how that will affect his performance to be honest.

Good: Daicos, Whitfield, Bont, Walsh, Laird, Green, Flanders, Zorko, Moore
Pass: Stewart, Butters, Rozee
Bad: Dale, LDU, Gulden (C), Dowling, Grundy, Heeney, Fisher
Ugly: May, Yeo, English, Richards, Brown, Boak

What an awful week. I had a ton of players underperform, trades were flops, Captain choice was pretty awful (sucked in by the Bont late out possibility and Phillips tag which never came) and a bunch of vests which killed some cash gen and scores.

Right now Boak is a disaster pick, he was to get through the byes and potentially use as a swing at F7. It sounds like he has been pushed off the wing and could only get 10 touches for the game playing half forward which has killed him. He is probably my main concern this week. Fisher is the 2nd one that has me worried, although fingers crossed it was just some foot soreness and he is good to go down the stretch. I'm contemplating 2 trades which will leave me with 1 for the rest of the season. I am thinking Boak to Caldwell and Richards to Kreuger. Kreuger might be my super cheap ruck coverage if he continues to get a game while Caldwell fixes my Boak mistake. It leaves me with 1 trade and about 72k which could hopefully get me Fisher to Rankine pending on scores and BE's when I need to make that move.

arbel

Yeah Boak has tumbled which isn't good. I had him through his bye then offloaded. Worried about him being rested down the stretch too.

It's hard with the 3 trades left, mainly covering the lines in case of injury. Could go for broke and finish side off and hope no injuries happen. If you can, go Boak straight to Caldwell. What is Richards BE? Is it worth holding? Dowling could make some money and turn him into someone semi decent for cover down the line
