2023 Head-to-Heads
(i.e. what if these match-ups occurred every single week?)

Buenos Aires Armadillos (11) v Rio de Janeiro Jaguars (6)
Seoul Magpies (7) v Rome Gladiators (10)
Toronto Wolves (7) v New Delhi Tigers (10)
Mexico City Suns (9) v Cape Town Cobras (8 )

And don't forget reserves!

There are 2 teams (Tokyo, Cairo) who have made Reserves finals but not the seniors.

You may name an indicative senior team if you wish (or I will), which will be used to determine who will not play in your Reserves side. Obviously, this senior team must consist of players you would be naming if you were playing senior finals.

Some fun facts...

Toronto v New Delhi, and Mexico City v Cape Town, are WXVs first ever 16th head-to-head clashes! It is also Buenos Aires v Rio/Sao Paulo's 16th clash!

Despite having scored the 3rd most points in the H&A season, Toronto are down 7-10 in the 2023 head-to-head with New Delhi!

Seoul is seeking its first win against Rome, having won its previous 5 encounters against Moscow.

And how can we not mention Rhythm cup! Buenos Aires have only beaten Rio/Sao Paulo ONCE! 1 from 16! The Dillos have some serious demons to face in its home qualifying final.

Purple 77

Mexico City v Cape Town racked up 3 clashes in its epic 2012 saga, that saw Maca's Suns defeat My Chumps' Cape Town. GoLions will be gunning to bring the Cobras to its first Grand Final since that inaugural season

Purple 77

This is the first time Buenos Aires take on Rio in the finals, having lost all 3 of its finals against Sao Paulo in 2012, 2013 and 2014

Purple 77

Toronto v New Delhi was quite the rivalry between 2018-2019, having played 3 finals including the Ricochet/elephants premiership in 2019

upthemaidens

Rome are pretty consistent and have the highest scoring ceiling. They would be my tip for the flag.

A little bit of a selection headache in that final spot, no Karl Amon or Matt Kennedy providing the headaches. It's a recall for Tom De Koning who can hopefully excel against the Saints backline. Jack Viney is given the opportunity to captain the side against a North side who hopefully roll over for him. Bring on the Rhythm Cup :)
