Round 8

IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ

AFL teams will be announcing their teams at 6:20pm AEST on Thursday (Wednesday for Thursday night games)
Sunday teams are confirmed at 5pm AEST on Friday (Saturday for Monday games)

We WILL NOT be using a partial lockout, please read the rule below.

You are encouraged to name your full team at the start of the round and edit accordingly as teams drop each day. I understand this is not possible for everyone, hence why it would be preferred that people name their full team to begin with.

If you make any edits to your team, please do so in a new 'quote' post.

There is no loopholing allowed in ADT

- Fri - Sun games are back, so you can name four (4) emergencies.

- In the event a coach either submits an incomplete team or fails to submit a team at all without contacting the admin, they will receive a warning/strike and their submission from last week will be used. Penalties for this can be found in the rules post (no sacking coaches because we barely have enough as is).

Friday night FULL LOCKOUT at 7.50pm AEST

- Teams are to be posted in this format only

Round 8

Crom at the Cattery Caught by Cagey Coniglio and Cripps
Springfield Isotopes (1622) defeated by Washington Senators (1670)

Handy victory for the travelling Senators as they knock off a top contender at home! Springfield were cooked by Crom duo Walker and Rachele, the former a late in for Tobias Greene. The other Adelaide duo in Laird and ROB performed admirably though, with Cerra putting in a big shift to lift the side, but a poor HGA put a stop to snagging a win. Washington got it done without a solid contribution from its captains Coniglio and Cripps, leaving the heavy lifting to a consistent cohort of 7 centurions! Washington cement their place near the top, while Springfield will be ruing this loss to a fellow contender.

Dallas.
Guadalajara Pirates (1358) defeated by Dallas Coyotes (2002)

A match between rivals! What could possibly go wrong? Everything, it would seem for Guadalajara, who get thoroughly humbled by Dallas in what can only be described as a complete erasure. 2000? What? Highest score I've ever seen, possibly the highest score in ADT history! When you have 9 centurions, 4 of which score 130+ and 2 of which drop 150+ scores, anything is possible I suppose... Errol Gulden led the line with a piggish 161 (not the highest score of the round), followed by English on 151, as well as Anderson and Bolton on 132 and 137. Even the goat Wil Powell scored 105 as a late in for Lachie Weller! Everything was cooking for Dallas, and frankly, I'm keen to see how the flag is bottled this year. For Guadalajara, well a win was never really on the cards, but this is a bit more than a loss. Team in real strife with a misfiring Jack Steele at the forefront of a struggling midfield that made finals not too long ago...

Valiant El Paso Victim to Vanishing Kings
El Paso Pioneers (1671) defeated by Los Angeles Kings (1779)

Aaaaaaaaand he's gone. Koop gone awol after dropping in last week to pinch a win against Springfield, and back off again to ghost ship past El Paso. Brayshaw looks to be back to his scoring ways, as a proper lineup leads to proper scores. Not sure if Darcy Cameron is strategically placed for the ghost ship in a few rounds but hey, it's working I guess. Tom Green dropped 170 on their heads, but only as vice captain which would have been painful to watch for the coach, but ultimately would have fallen just short regardless. More wins look to be on the horizon though

Calgary Squeeze Past Surfers
Calgary Fireflies (1636) defeated by Hawaiian Surfers (1585)

A closer match than Calgary would have wanted, given last weeks score, but they do enough to get the win over the Surfers. LDU's brief purple patch is well and truly over it seems, but Sheezel is back and Parish continues to score points. An injury to Ridley soured the affair though, and kept it interesting as he disabled HGA basically. Calgary will lick their wounds and press on, while it's another almost week for Hawaii on the bottom.

Pig Behaviour Gets it Done
Bermuda Tiger Sharks (1469) defeated by Arizona Scorpions (1772)

KB went missing, but Bermuda were soundly beaten by Arizona in a regulation affair. Bermuda's forwards stink, and will be hit by a suspension to Brad Close which they can ill afford. Dawson continues to impress, but he can't do it alone. Arizona meanwhile had the piggery of both Jack Ziebell (168) and Josh Dunkley (172) to enjoy as they post up a score 300 points lower than Dallas' despite having 2 150+ scores also. The trick lies in the forward line once again, as Heeney Stringer and McKay ride the coattails of the Zeegull, while there's still a passenger or 2 down back. The twin towers of Darcy and Grundy also disappointed, as a good score remains just that.
