Round 1

Rising Star

Dublin may have had a 'mare, but their patience in Finn Callaghan (101) was rewarded, providing some light in an otherwise dark weekend. As alluded to before however, Cape Town's Harry Sheezel (114) would have likely played his first and last game in the 2s, and will no doubt be mentioned again in this thread.

Team of the Week

TOTW regular Luke Ryan (171) leads the team with a MAMMOTH score for the Reindeers! Fellow defender Brennan Cox (154) takes up the VC, in what was otherwise a team dominated by Dillos (2 and the coach), Suns (3) and Rome (3).

But I've never seen so many would-be reps torched in the 2s! Rampe (150), Kozzy Pickett (144), Junior Rioli and Todd Marshall all missed out on noms.

D: Luke Ryan [C] (PNL), Brennan Cox [VC] (Christchurch), Hayden Young (Mexico City), Nick Daicos (Rome)
M: Luke Davies-Uniacke (Mexico City), Tom Green (Buenos Aires), Adam Treloar (Rome), Jordan De Goey (Buenos Aires)
R: Max Gawn (Berlin)
F: Stephen Coniglio (Beijing), Jason Horne-Francis (New Delhi), Errol Gulden (Rome), Archie Perkins (Mexico City)
U: Jarrod Witts (Pacific), Timothy English (London)

Coach: iZander (Buenos Aires)

Purple 77

Round 2

Rising Star

Cape Town promptly corrected last week's mistake, and was rewarded with a repeat performance from Harry Sheezel (114)! Close behind was Tokyo's Will Ashcroft (105),  but there was only 6 other eligible players this week! Play your rookies for cryin out glavin!

Team of the Week

I would want to say this is LDU's first captaincy gig? I know it's certainly not Daicos' first, joint sharing with Jeremy Cameron to form a pretty unique trio of leaders. Setterfield may have made his first ever appearance, whilst apart from say Cairo's Matty Flynn, was an otherwise pretty typical TOTW. Coach included.

D: Nick Daicos [VC] (Rome), Brennan Cox (Christchurch), Jack Sinclair (New Delhi), Luke Ryan (PNL)
M: Luke Davies-Uniacke [C] (Mexico City), Will Setterfield (Toronto), Rory Laird (Pacific), Steele Sidebottom (PNL)
R: Timothy English (London)
F: Jeremy Cameron [VC] (Rio de Janeiro), Dayne Zorko (Beijing), Darcy Cameron (PNL), Jack Ziebell (Buenos Aires)
U: Clayton Oliver (Seoul), Matthew Flynn (Cairo)

Coach: iZander (Buenos Aires)

Purple 77

Round 3

Rising Star

He was New Delhi's M2 this week, and with good reason! Reuben Ginbey (104) is known to many as a staple in their fantasy defence, but the Tigers abundance of defenders have given him room to shine in his midfield talents and will no doubt be a valuable player for NDT this year and beyond.

Team of the Week

He'd have to be one of the most regular captains of the TOTW, Cairo's Tom Stewart. Clayton Oliver is also no stranger to leadership duties. Speaking of strangers, Mason Wood features in M4, and 1st year sensation Harry Sheezel makes his debut in the team!

Despite Seoul's mammoth 165, only Clarry and the coach are in the team... Will Day could have been if selected too!

D: Tom Stewart [C] (Cairo), Nic Newman (Mexico City), Harris Andrews (Cape Town), Adam Saad (London)
M: Clayton Oliver [VC] (Seoul), Josh Kelly (Rome), Caleb Serong (Buenos Aires), Mason Wood (Rio de Janeiro)
R: Brodie Grundy (Beijing)
F: Liam Baker (Toronto), Dylan Moore (Rome), Connor Rozee (Rome), Harry Sheezel (Cape Town)
U: Timothy English (London), Sean Darcy (Christchurch)

Coach: JBs-Hawks (Seoul)

Purple 77

Round 4

Rising Star

It was a HUGE performance and the highest so far out of the eligible rising stars, with Buenos Aires forward Mitchito Owens (143) capping off a pretty strong start to his year. Averaging 98ppg... a very sneaky Rising Star Award chance. A clutch performance in the win too for Buenos Aires!

Team of the Week

As close as you'll get to a perfect XV! If Jeremy Finlayson (Rio - 134) was named, it would have been (i.e. top 15 scoring players making a perfect XV). A very unique team too - Dawson went large as the C, Kelly, Warner and Anderson aren't regular mids, and Rising Star Owens makes his debut, alongside Florent I believe! Shout out to Higgins too.

GoLions gets the gong for COTW, edging out KB by 1 point for the honour.

D: Jordan Dawson [C] (New Delhi), Nick Daicos (Rome), Bailey Dale (New York), Daniel Rioli (Tokyo)
M: Tom Liberatore (Tokyo), Tim Kelly (Toronto), Chad Warner (Cape Town), Noah Anderson (New Delhi)
R: Timothy English (London)
F: Jeremy Cameron [VC] (Rio de Janeiro), Mitchito Owens (Buenos Aires), Jack Higgins (London), Charlie Curnow (Seoul)
U: Brodie Grundy (Beijing), Oliver Florent (Tokyo)

Coach: GoLions (Cape Town)

Purple 77

Round 5

Rising Star

Cairo would find something Amiss (99) with Will Ashcroft's (72) Round 5 nomination, but Will did it where it counts! Buenos Aires also missed out with Matt Roberts (93), but Ashcroft was always going to get a nom sooner or later!

Team of the Week

Again! So close to a perfect XV - if only Toronto named Heeney instead of resting him, it would have been! Lachie Neale finds that familiar [C] role, whilst the rise of Callum Wilkie continues to great unexpected lengths. A pretty standard team otherwise!

Shoutout to Urbs getting his first COTW gong for the year

D: Callum Wilkie [VC] (Christchurch), Jordan Dawson (New Delhi), Nick Blakey (Rome), Tom Stewart (Cairo)
M: Lachie Neale [C] (Beijing), Caleb Serong (Buenos Aires), Marcus Bontempelli (Pacific), Rory Laird (Pacific)
R: Timothy English (London)
F: Tom Hawkins (Beijing), Zak Butters (New Delhi), Tom Papley (Cape Town), Josh Dunkley (Tokyo)
U: Sean Darcy (Christchurch), Zach Merrett (PNL)

Coach: Urbaninfinnity (Beijing)

Purple 77

Round 6

Rising Star

A popular trade-in option among fantasy players last/this week, Dublin's Seamus Mitchell (79) has proven his worth as a swing-man who'll fill in the many gaps... mostly in that forward line of Dublin's. I'm spewin Jacob Van Rooyen's (80) effort goes unrewarded, as would Beijing with Jai Culley (91).

Team of the Week

I haven't seen the mids dominate like this in some time - especially of the 2016-2020 vintage! Bont is synonymous with coach UTM, and both lead this team of the week. Wil Powell perhaps the only tourist of this team... lots of regulars in this one. Such was the mids dominance this week, you have Adam Treloar's 135 missing out! (11th highest score of the week)

D: Nick Daicos (Rome), Lachie Weller (Rio de Janeiro), Wil Powell (Beijing), Nick Vlastuin (Cairo)
M: Marcus Bontempelli [C] (Pacific), Steele Sidebottom [VC] (PNL), Patrick Dangerfield (Seoul), Adam Cerra (Buenos Aires)
R: Sean Darcy (Christchurch)
F: Tim Taranto (Rio de Janeiro), Stephen Coniglio (Beijing), Taylor Walker (Pacific), Connor Rozee (Rome)
U: Tom Liberatore (Tokyo), Josh Kelly (Rome)

Coach: upthemaidens (Pacific)

Purple 77

Round 7

Rising Star

I didn't see this mans rise from obscurity coming! Now he is a regretful sale to London, with Luke Pedlar (70) a shining light in a dark day for the Royals. He was the outright leader, with Darcy Wilmot (63 - also a former Brewer) the next one behind him.

Team of the Week

That... is... TORTURE! We had the top 14 players neatly in the 15, with only a bench spot to fill! The only thing that would stop WXVs (potentially first ever) perfect 15 would be if some clown named a gun in the 2s... enter PNLs Charlie Ballard. Unforgiveable Daz.

It was a very high performing TOTW, with YUGE scores from Curnow and Hawkins who kicked 17 between them. Reasonably familiar names throughout... kudos to Pk for responding to his doubters with the COTW performance! He brought a whopping 4 players with him, followed by 3 from Seoul.

D: Jordan Dawson (New Delhi), Wil Powell (Beijing), Nic Newman (Mexico City), James Sicily (Mexico City)
M: Christian Petracca (Mexico City), Patrick Cripps (Seoul), Noah Anderson (New Delhi), Adam Cerra (Buenos Aires)
R: Rowan Marshall (Toronto)
F: Charlie Curnow [C] (Seoul), Tom Hawkins [VC] (Beijing), Jake Stringer (Mexico City), Tim Taranto (Rio de Janeiro)
U: Clayton Oliver (Seoul), Travis Boak (PNL)

Coach: Pkbaldy (Mexico City)

Purple 77

Round 8

Rising Star

There's nothing amiss with this nomination, congratulations to Cairo forward Jye Amiss (79) for being the outright top scorer of the remaining eligible players this week. Funnily enough it was a Cairo full podium finish, with teammates Judson Clarke (58) and Phillipou (56) the next cabs off the rank (in the 1s).

Team of the Week

The mids and forwards went v lorge and none bigger than New Delhi's Noah Anderson (189) and Dillo Jack Ziebell (179). Neither were captains for their teams funnily enough, whom both were this weeks #1 and #2 highest scoring teams. Imagine what could have been!

A very unique and comparatively low scoring defense features, with would could be Jamaine Jones (London) first career appearance. Also special shout out to Max, for what is definitely not his first career appearance. (ROB had the same score... but I run this show)

D: Callum Wilkie (Christchurch), Jamaine Jones (London), Jordan Dawson (New Delhi), Dan Houston (Rome)
M: Noah Anderson [C] (New Delhi), Marcus Bontempelli (Pacific), Andrew Brayshaw (Dublin), Clayton Oliver (Seoul)
R: Max Gawn (Berlin)
F: Jack Ziebell [VC] (Buenos Aires), Shai Bolton (Mexico City), Josh Dunkley (Tokyo), Charlie Cameron (Tokyo)
U: Tom Green (Buenos Aires), Adam Cerra (Buenos Aires)

Coach: iZander (Buenos Aires)

#10
Round 9

Rising Star

He was integral in Berlin's spirited challenge, congratulations to Seoul up-and-coming star Bailey Humphrey (117) for his comprehensive rising star nom.

Team of the Week

A blast from the past sees PNLs Todd Goldstein lead this TOTW! Matty Rowell may have also gotten his first leadership duties in his career with his first appearance in 2023. Regular faces feature elsewhere, with special mention to Mason Cox suiting up at F4!

Amazingly, despite posting the highest score of the year so far, FTC only took 2 players with him in his TOTW! A truly masterful Toronto all-round team performance by the Wolves.

D: Mason Redman (Christchurch), James Sicily (Mexico City), Liam Duggan (Pacific), Brodie Smith (New York)
M: Matt Rowell [VC] (Berlin), Jack Viney (Rio de Janeiro), Christian Petracca (Mexico City), Tom Liberatore (Tokyo)
R: Todd Goldstein [C] (PNL)
F: Errol Gulden (Rome), Joe Daniher (Toronto), Zak Butters (New Delhi), Mason Cox (Rio de Janeiro)

Purple 77

Round 10

Rising Star

Back-to-back nominations for Seoul! Congratulations to Cameron Mackenzie (87) for his big role in the win against Tokyo. Interestingly enough, it was teammate Josh Weddle (114) that missed out on the outright nom, but was stuck in the 2s!

Team of the Week

A very balanced team and the 14 highest scorers fit neatly in it! Alas it was the ruck that let down the perfect 15! Roma's 126 would easily have to be the lowest top-scoring ruck for many years I'd say.

Butters went lorge and PNL capitalised on the TOTW VC Zerrett. I don't see any team with 3 or more reps. adding to my aforementioned comment on balance! JB takes the wheel of this team, despite not having a single player!

D: Jack Sinclair (New Delhi), Darcy Moore (PNL), Caleb Daniel (Dublin), Bailey Dale (New York)
M: Zach Merrett [VC] (PNL), Conor Nash (Beijing), Rory Laird (Pacific), Jack Macrae (Toronto)
R: Rowan Marshall (Toronto)
F: Zak Butters [C] (New Delhi), Josh Dunkley (Tokyo), Connor Rozee (Rome), Shai Bolton (Mexico City)
U: Chad Warner (Cape Town), Luke Parker (Rome)

Coach: JBs-Hawks (Seoul)

Purple 77

Round 11

Rising Star

O Lord (75), was it a fine performance by the young Jaguar! Teammate Eddie Ford (83) was also worthy had he not been in the 2s, likewise Gladiator Mac Andrew (83).

Team of the Week

It was defenders week this week, with a whopping 6 of them in the team, with another 5 in the queue ahead of 15th man Toby Greene who slot in at F4. Heading this list was Mexico City's James Sicily (172), whom was the difference in their clash against Dublin. Matt Rowell gets his second VC of the year, whilst Witts surprisingly gets his first nomination for the year.

Coaches Jukes and Torp get their first COTW gong, but only taking Dylan Moore with them! Buenos Aires had 3 reps, Tokyo had 2, whilst amazingly all other 10 players represented 1 club each.

D: James Sicily [C] (Mexico City), Mason Redman (Christchurch), Jake Lloyd (New Delhi), Tom Stewart (Cairo)
M: Matt Rowell [VC] (Berlin), Jordan De Goey (Buenos Aires), Jack Macrae (Toronto), Andrew Brayshaw (Dublin)
R: Jarrod Witts (Pacific)
F: Tim Taranto (Rio de Janeiro), Josh Dunkley (Tokyo), Dylan Moore (Rome), Toby Greene (Buenos Aires)
U: Jordan Ridley (Tokyo), Shannon Hurn (Buenos Aires)

Co-coaches: Jukes & Torp (Rome)
