Think a few of us thought the same with Steele me included but like me will be stuck with him but hoping he may find some form,

Wilmot to Ford is a pretty good trade. I still like Wardlaw as an option so I would consider JVR to Wardlaw as well. That should give you the cash to bring in Macrae this week if you wanted to pull the trigger on that move.

arbel

Yeah could be an option. JVR is probably nearing end of his price run.
Only predicted to make 5k over next few weeks so could probably go now on that. Macrae has low BE so wouldn't want to miss.

Not the best week ... but not the worst. One day I'll nail the VC/C loop. Don't think I've got the captain right once this year.
Only pressing issue I see is DeGoey. Only silver line is it stayed at 3 weeks and 2 of those will be served in bye rounds. So with best 18 I can hide him.
Means first week after byes I won't have him and need cover but think that shouldn't be too bad.
Most lines are fine now with just the last 2 upgrades needed in backline and mid.

Ziebell and Sheezel could be worries with Hall returning. I had flirted with getting Rampe when he came back. Looked good at the start of the year.
Could do a sideways Ziebell to Rampe and pocket the 125k and put that towards an upgrade of Cincotta to Mills when he returns.
That's only a maybe as no real pressing issues I can see at the moment.

Bully

Rampe returning means Lloyd becomes more of a risky proposition, I'm torn on Sheezel, not sure what to do but trading down does seem like a good move.

I was thinking about that with Rampe coming back about Lloyd but with all the other injuries I think he may still find the ball.
Yeah Sheezel seems to be moved to like a half forward/mid role. Hall been taking Ziebell's kick ins so dries up his scoring.
Tough decisions to be made.

I just looked over the stats for Lloyd with Rampe in the side, no dramas, should be a solid pick.

Did you end up making any trades? I'm hoping you didn't go with Rampe, with the Swans missing a number of key defenders he is likely to play lock down. He might make some decent coin with the 108 in the average but there won't be consistency. With 8 trades I probably hold this week with the lack of downgrade options.

I did end up holding on the trades and glad I did. Rampe didn't go big and no idea what horse was thinking putting Lloyd on a wing, in the wet?
All my worry players in defence (Sheezel, Ziebell and Day) all had decent scores. With 8 trades and 2 upgrades still to go just have to hold I think.
Wardlaw and Ford scoring really well so will hold those through the byes and hopefully can upgrade to fallen prem.
Such a rollercoaster this year

Got through my first round of the year without using a trade! Finally nailed the C on Laird as well.
Thinking could hold this week as well on trades. De Goey I'm just going to carry him through.
Wardlaw and Ford are still gaining money. Hopefully Cincotta has done enough to get another game and can trade him next week.
Mitchell and Weddle have the bye but both still making money so no reason to sell just yet.
Problem is the deadweight players (roberts, constable, sharp, drury) aren't playing and with only 8 trades can't really sideways

Mat0369

Only suggestion I can make is Mitchell to Fyfe this week if you think Fyfe will make more money over the next handful of weeks. Thomas is an option if you think he can be good coverage at his price, but you lose the player next week. You could potentially make the same move with Cinoccta using your reserve funds in prep for the byes. Named on an extended bench this week it's worth keeping an eye on

arbel

Yeah I thought of Fyfe but I'm not sure as I'd have to see Fyfe as a keeper and based on his form this season I don't see that at the moment.
Definitely a keep an eye on though

Well finally here, got to the bye round I've been dreading. Hadn't been planning on it and honestly not going for overall so not too fussed.
So thinking this week could go Wardlaw, Weddle and Mitchell to Yeo, Mullin and Cameron (via Dunkley to MID)
Gives me a complete team then moving forward with Ford/Cincotta as coverage on lines.
Only trouble players are Yeo, Steele. Sheezel and Ziebell I figure will be up and down but will have 5 trades and 36k left to tinker

Mat0369

With how many trades you have left you're in a pretty good spot. You can even look to bring a premium mid in down the line and use Cameron as your F7/R3. This round is a tough one for everyone. Did you end up bringing in Mullin or hold off since he is essentially a bottom priced donut?

Hooray byes are done. Overall not too disappointed with my score this round considering only had 15 scoring players.
Including a 38, 51 and Mills sub score of 77.
@Mat, didn't end up going those trades went a different path to get in Sheldrick, Mills and Hewett just to get maximum scoring.
I know Mills dropped in price and will further but was my last mid so not that worried about price.
This week should be simple. Mitchell/Weddle out and bring in some rookie (hopefully a playing one) and Dawson.
Should complete my team then and leave me with 20,000ish in the bank and 3 trades.

Only real worry players should then be Steele (although some improvement this week) and maybe Ziebell/Sheezel.
