Round 2

Score: 2088
Rank: 87,200
Round Rank: 72,855
Cash: $198,500

Trades

Stewart>Tom Green
Caminiti>McKenna
Fyfe>Phillipou

Good: Dawson, Jones, Ginbey, McKenna, Constable, Wilmot, Oliver, Hollands, Hopper, Ashcroft, Marshall, Dunkley, Gulden, Sheezel
Pass: Cowan, Neale, Green, Rozee, Cunnington
Bad: Doc, Steele, Baker, Mackenzie, Phillipou
Ugly: Darcy, Chesser, Callaghan, Greene, Davey

Another poor week anchored by my ruck choice in Darcy. He was horrendous and he has to go this week. He had an awful first half last week and looked out of shape and well out of touch this week vs an ancient Goldy.

I picked the wrong one out of Greene, Caminiti and Chesser to trade out. I swapped the VC from Oliver to Neale last minute. I also picked the wrong premium to trade in. I guess I can't complain with Green and the cash, but I don't know if he will be a top 8 option unlike Bont, Cripps, Miller or even LDU who looks to have taken the next step. There was also the Sinclair, Daicos and Cameron who had elite games on the weekend.

What trades do I make this week? Steele has to go with the injury. Darcy I am shipping off before he bleeds cash. I am also looking at Chesser as my third winner and 2nd boost of the season to get out of my team.

I do need to keep an eye on Callaghan who injured his shoulder at the end of the first quarter and then wasn't right when he came back on.

Players I am looking to trade in this week?

Darcy to Darcy Cameron feels like a lock. Worst case it gives me ruck coverage down the track and it is a move I had all pre-season until I was spooked off by Cox.
I can turn Steele into just about any mid not named Laird. So there is Bont, Parish, Cripps or go down to LDU. LDU does seem like a risk with a lack of history behind him, but he has looked like Dangerfield out there and I may as well take the risk.
Third trade is likely going to be Chesser to either Ziebell or Setters and try and get the quick cash rise and trade him to Laird. Ziebell fits my structure better but I'll post the options in my next post with pics.

Mat0369

I'll have about 110k with the Ziebell team and 117k with the Setter team

Setters team will force me to play Phillipou at F6 which should be fine, but it locks in Greene or Davey in an emergency which could be ugly.

Ziebell team allows me to field any of Hollands, Mackenzie or Phillipou at M8. I also get Phillipou covering any outs in my forward line which I think gives me a better structure. Ziebell won't make cash as quickly as Setters but won't be far off and could even be a keeper as a forward while getting DPP in Round 6.

I'll have 30 trades but I feel like my cash gen is looking okay and I can hold for a little bit

Ringo

Like the Ziebell one as I am looking at similar.  maybe a waste of a trade so next week I would look at your worst performing rookie in forward mid and look maybe to trade in a M11 donut so you can loop M8.

I think Ziebell is the one that makes the most sense. Probably don't want to burn a trade on a donut though when I already have Madden at R3. Happy to try and keep the cash gen going early.

Hopper out means I have a loop for Baker and Mackenzie/Hollands at M8 with the other at M7. I think LDU is the mid option that makes the most sense. He was a 110 guy from his bye last year and carried on the form. He looks like Danger out of stoppages and the cash is a bonus over Bont. It lets me make a trade next week if needed without trying to hunt some extra dollars.

Bully

LDU will probably be a high standard deviation player like Petracca, that's why I'm not jumping the gun too early, North have had a good early draw too.

My team is cursed

You & I both Matt, I had a really uneasy feeling about the ruck division & that has played out so far, more trades coming up next round, my 2023 looking like trainwreck so far.

Mat0369

LDU out as well haha

Lucky I caught it. Temp turned him into Setters in prep of trading Cameron. Gives me 300k next week. Otherwise I could do Parish but will need 2 trades next week for Cameron to a prem

I think we both need to grab English (with slight trepidation based on last year), grab Setters and spend the cash wisely.

Round Rank: 53,789

Trades

Steele>LDU>Setterfield
Darcy>Cameron
Chesser>Ziebell

Good: Dawson, Ginbey, Wilmot, Oliver, Neale, Ashcroft, Baker, Mackenzie, Davey, Dunkley, Rozee, Sheezel
Pass: Jones, Hollands, Setterfield
Bad: Doc, McKenna, Cowan, Green, Marshall, Gulden, Ziebell, Phillipou, Greene
Ugly: Callaghan, Cameron, Cunnington

Another week, another poor result. My trades backfired, particularly the Darcy to Cameron trade with Darcy scoring 132 and Cameron a long term injury.

LDU was a late out so I swung a quick trade to Setters knowing I had to upgrade Cameron this week allowing me to make the move in one single trade.

Apart from the obvious Cameron stuff up, I have Callaghan who has struggled since the shoulder injury, Cunnington who dominated inside and scored a pathetic 62, Doc butchering the ball and Tom Green putting up a lacklustre 100, while the player I traded him out for that was supposed to be a LTI coming back and dominating.

What trades do I make this week?

Cameron to a ruck is the first. I still feel the rucks are a crapshoot, even though English and Witts appear to be the two standout options. My gut tells me English is bound to get injured at some point, and it will be the most inconvenient timing. Witts will score well without being amazing and the one that stands out is Grundy but he isn't a long term solution as he could go back to putting up 60's when Gawn returns. Grundy also has the pathetic Eagles ruck stocks that Darcy just dominated.

Trade 2 has to be one of Callaghan or Cunnington. Cunnington is reminding me a lot of Cripps a couple years back. He is amazing in close but the scores aren't reflecting his performance. I think he has to go on that alone

Callaghan looks amazing with the ball but just couldn't find the pill against Carlton and may still be protecting that shoulder from the week prior at contests.

I really don't want to use a boost, so the ide is I trade two of that trio. Here are a few potential combos

Cameron and Cunnington to English and Taranto
Cameron and Cunnington to English and Josh Kelly/LDU (have to bench 3 of Callaghan/Mackenzie/Hollands/Baker and field Phillipou/Davey/Greene)
Cameron and Cunnington to English and Daicos (field one of Phillipou/Davey/Greene)
Cameron and Callaghan to Grundy and Daicos
Cameron and Cunnington to Grundy and Laird (have to bench 3 of Callaghan/Mackenzie/Hollands/Baker and field Phillipou/Davey/Greene)
Cameron and Callaghan to Grundy and LDU/Mitchell
Cameron and Callaghan to Grundy and Cogs/Moore/Taranto
Cameron and Callaghan to English and Wood/Sheed/Sidebottom/Pickett/Amarty/Samo/Chandler (basically a quick cash grab)

I can also use my 3rd boost of the season which is just gross and go something like this

Cameron/Cunnington/Callaghan to English/LDU/Chandler with about 80k
Cameron/Cunnington/Callaghan to  English/Laird/Chandler with about 100k

I honestly like the option where I grab Grundy and LDU for Cameron and Callaghan the most, but Cunnington will continue to bleed cash has to go next week. I'll need to make my mind up early tomorrow

Round 4

Score: 2054
Rank: 77,848
Round Rank: 75,698
Cash: $9,400

Trades

Callaghan>LDU
Cameron>Grundy

Good: Dawson, McKenna, Oliver, Ashcroft, Grundy, Gulden, Ziebell, Sheezel, Greene
Pass: Setterfield, Phillipou
Bad: Doc, , Cowan, Wilmot, Neale, LDU, Green, Hopper, Marshall (subbed), Dunkley, Rozee
Ugly: Ginbey, Jones, Hollands, Baker, Davey, Mackenzie, Cunnington

Another week, another terrible score. Most of my premiums have been a disaster which hasn't helped. My trades weren't bad, LDU was on track for a big score before Curnow went to him and Grundy scored the same as English at a far cheaper price. I should have traded out Cunnington before Callaghan. My main worry was the inconsistent forward rookies, both ended up outscoring Cunnington in the end.

Trades for this week. Cunnington has to go. My lack of cash is what might hamstring me this week. I am leaning towards downgrading Cunnington to Van Rooyen and maybe bringing in a premium mid or defender. Mackenzie is probably the easiest path to achieving this, but doesn't give me the cash I need to grab one of the big guns. I am leaning towards a slightly out of the box pick who has had a bounce back in Jake Lloyd. Vlastuin and Dale are two other options with Dale having a quiet first two rounds and Vlastuin a poor round 1 backed up with 3 tons in a row. Will Day is another potential option and looks to be thriving in the midfield.

Other option is hold Mackenzie, dump Setters this week and bring in Touk Miller/Laird/Cripps/Bont

Bully

I'm tempted to dump Doch this week, what's your prognosis?

He was a hold for me. The role in the first half was terrible and didn't suit him.

That's flipped now with the injury. I think Doc to Stewart and Cunnington to Van Rooyen. Next week I'll look at potentially Setters to Laird

Is Samson Ryan also worth grabbing with the Nank injury?

Bully

Yes, he's a reasonable pick given his DPP, his tank not fully evolved, not sure how he goes for 80 minutes. I think Miller & Balta will be seeing time in the middle. Still a viable pick however.

Mat0369

I just saw that Gawn is due back in the next week or two. It makes me think Van Rooyen may be a dead rookie with Brown also due back. It would be between him and TMac for the last forward spot and it could go either way. Contemplating Ryan as an option to sit at F8 and also cover the rucks for a few price rises
