Rd 3 Update

Rd 3 Score 2,300
Rd 3 Position 3.106
Overall position 13.481 (up 24,844)
Cash $56,900

3 Trades Uwland, Greene, Hopper to McKenna, Chandler, Settlefield

Rd 2 Team
Def: Docherty, Day, Jones, Ginbey, Wilmot, McKenna (Chesser, Cowan)
Mid: Oliver, Bontempelli, Neale, Green, Settlefield, Ashcroft, Gulden, Constable (Long,Baker, Mackenzie)
Ruck: Witts, Marshall
Fwds: Dunkley, Coniglio, Rozee, Taranto, Sheezel, Chandler(Davey, Caminiti)
Baker emergency for Constable.

What a difference a week makes.  Jury will be out for a while on whether trading Hopper to Settlfield was worth it but helped avoid more carnage,

Only real issues for the week were Docherty, Coniglio and Marshall from my premiums. Rest of prems OK and mids reasonable. Think I have got all the decent rookies, Constable can cover 2 lines to loop whilst he still not selected.

Pending teams no real need to trade this week as no rookies ready to milk. Docherty the real concern though and whether to persist will haunt me for the rest of the week. Could go Stewart this week which is the discussion for rest of week both have high B/e which will cause further drop so basically wait a week or chase points gain as surely Stewart will outscore Doc.

Bully

Nice one! Good comeback & I was thinking Stewart as a sneaky POD, he's the only guy who can score bugger all one week & then almost hit his BE the next.

Mat0369

That's an amazing bounce back week.

I'd probably hold Doc and like you said you don't have any pressing issues. I would probably keep the trades and assess next week

Rd 4 Update Riding  the weekly Rollercoaster

Rd 4 Score 2,041
Rd 4 Position 81,874
Overall position 22,346 (Down 8.865)
Cash $164,100

I Trade Witts to Grundy (To late to get English when advice received)

Rd 4 Team

Good: Day, Oliver, Bontempelli, Gulden, Grundy, Taranto, Sheezel,
Average: McKenna, Cowan, Wilmot, Neal, Green, Marshall (although subbed), Ashcroft, Settlefield, Caminiti, Chandler, Dunkley, Rozee
Bad: Baker, Long, Mackenzie, Ginbey, Coniglio. Davey
Ugly: Docherty, Jones
DNP- Chesser, Constable

Plans for this week will be decided on what happens with Day. If 2 weeks or more feel like I have to trade and thinking this trade
Setterfield, Jones, Day to JVR, Daicos, Stewart
If Day survives probably just the first 2.

Need to revise trade with Doc out for 4 weeks or so.
So  thinking Doc,Day and Davey to Dawson, Daicos, JVR (Could do Jones to JVR but would mean both Constable and Chesser on bench for this week)

Bully

I'm pretty much set on JVR, I can see the appeal with big Samson, I reckon he's a solid pick with the DPP but Gawn won't be back for a couple of price rises in all likelihood.

Ringo

My 2 options being considered

If  Day appeal unsuccesful
Docherty,Day, Jones to Dawson, Daicos, Ryan/JVR

If down to a week or dismissed
Docherty, Settlefield, Jones to Dawson, Daicos, Ryan/JVR

Both rely on one of Ginbey or Constable playing.  Ginbey should play given Eagles injury list.

Mat0369

That is a pretty strong list of ins in Dawson and Daicos. Probably can't fault it with how both are going.

Talk at West Coast of the possibility of resting Ginbey ... even with all the injuries, may not be this week but could be next?

Ringo

With their injuries hard to see Ginbey being rested this week.  Need to get through this week as Sheezel will go to defence next week with DPP.

Mat0369

Apparently someone messaged Ginbey on IG and he said he was playing haha

I wouldn't be shocked if he is the sub but I think it's more managing the training load

Rd 5 Update - Continuing to ride the weekly Rollercoaster

Rd 5 Score 2,335
Rd 5 Position 10,012
Overall position 13, 241 (Up
Cash $164,100

Trades: Docherty. Day and L. Jones to Dawsson. Daicos and S Ryan

Rd 5 Team

Good: Dawson, Daicos. Neale, Bontempelli. Oliver, Grundy, Marshall, Grundy, Dunkley, Coniglio, Taranto, Sheezel
Average: Green, Gulden, Settlefield, Gulden, Ashcroft, Rozee
Bad: Ginbey, McKenna, Wilmot, Baker. Long. Chandler, Ryan.
Ugly: MacKenzie, Caminiti, Cowan.  Trading Jones but may be best for long run.

What to do Rd 5:
Option 1 Only using one trade Mackenzie to Roberts and Settlefield to Tom Stewart -  Will mean playing 3 rookies on Field Ashcroft, Baker and one of Long, Davey and Roberts.
Option 2. As above but Ginbey to Ziebell.
Option 3; 2 downgrades Mackenzie to Roberts and Chandler/Baker to Williams on the bubble (Could do Johnson but worried about sub more so than Roberts.)
Option 4 Use a boost using option 2 but boosting Settlefield to Laird/Miller,  Will only leave 2 boosts though although 26 trades,

Considerations Ginbey, Green and Caminiti may have suspensions.

Have the option of moving Sheezel back as well if required,
Update
With Caminiti likely to be gone for weeks a revised trade.
Mackenzie to Roberts, Camininti to Williams leaves me with 276k
Just undecided whether to boost leaving only 2 but Setterfield to Miller/Laird also looks tasty with Green's 1 week suspension.
other option with 3rd trade is Ginbey to Ziebell

Mat0369

They're saying it might be 4+ for Caminiti and with Membrey ready to come back he will find it tough to get back in. He has to go, but he may bot be a bad option to hold for this week with Carlton playing the Saints on the Sunday allowing a Neale VC option.

I think you're in a bit of a tough spot this week. Ginbey could be out as he appears to be struggling with the workload, this will  mean you have to find a way to move Sheezel down back to cover.

You probably want to push Cowan to the bench as well if possible. You potentially have a Green sized hole this week (are GWS challenging) and the Bombers squad won't be released until late in the week. That leaves Long or Roberts if you do offload Mackenzie this week to cover.

The forward line looks good as is, but you may need to make some moves to cover a Ginbey out.

One risk that may be worth taking this week is bringing in Mitchell from the Hawks early for someone like Chesser. That will get rid of a dead rookie and give you a DPP swing that will be valuable if Ginbey is out. If you do use a boost I'd be more inclined to use it on Mackenzie, Ginbey and Chesser as the 3. 2 of those 3 are about to start bleeding cash and may have peaked out. I think they could still be okay long term holds, but they may just make their way back to where they are now in price.

If you want to maximise the points and potentially lose the dollars I would consider trading Caminti to Roberts, but move Gulden FWD, Constable to the Mids, Sheezel back and then bring in Roberts as a forward. It opens up the swing in one trade. If Ginbey is out I would hold Mackenzie to play him at M7 and upgrade Ginbey. If Ginbey is named, I would maybe field Cowan, play him at M7 and see if you can get a BPA in for Mackenzie to cover Green

Ringo

Thanks Matt

At this stage have played around and have this team after trading Caminiri to Williams and Mackenzie to Roberts,  As I said still undecided whether to sit or use boost.  If Ginbey out will have to play Cowan, and if Greens appeal unsuccesful play one of Roberts/Davey.
What do you think of trading Ginbey to Ziebell if he does not play?

Have a number of options for Vc with Madden and atm Bont into Oliver,

I have Ziebell but I picked him up before the price rises. At 442k he still provides great value, but if you're picking him as a defender he may not crack the top 10. As a forward he is probably around the top 10 and a decent value pick.

The scoring from players along HB has been insane and doesn't look like slowing down.  I think I would rather wait a week and grab Sinclair/Sicily who should both lose a bit of coin. You could even wait a week, not burn the boost and bring in a mid premium like Josh Kelly who could drop to around the 572k you have available.

arbel

Green didn't even challenge, so he's out and Ginbey could be due a rest.
Only saving grace there is eagles have no available players to replace him. Unless Shuey comes back which is a maybe.
Ginbey BE also now at 87 so could also potentially start losing cash.

Your team is pretty good otherwise so may not need to boost.
If you wanted to and didn't want to drop Ginbey, Chandler and Baker look to be coming to end of there money making soon so could trade one othem.
For me comes down to who has the better job security out of those 2.
