2022 Head-to-Heads
(i.e. what if these match-ups occurred every single week?)

New Delhi Tigers (6) v Buenos Aires Armadillos (12)
Enlightening head-to-head! Buenos Aires has clearly been the better team for most of the year, with New Delhi claiming its first would-be win in Round 9. However, the Tigers would have won the past 4 matches... during Buenos Aires' season crash. But are they back?! It was an ominous victory last week against the red hot Suns, and I think the Dillos' best is the best in the comp. If Buenos Aires are indeed back, they'll go all the way. But this New Delhi team has forgotten how to lose, winning a whopping 11 of its last 12 matches. Will Buenos Aires remind them this week at Wipro Stadium?

Pacific Islanders v (10) Rio de Janeiro Jaguars (8 )
I was surprised actually to see the 2022 h2h was this even. The Islanders have a much stronger perception in my view, probably due to the four 159+ scores it has notched in its past 7 matches. They have timed their run supremely well, and they know the stage (3 prelims in a row) and the opponent (7 v 1) so well. The odds are firmly against the Jags... but they were last week too, against a team that was in better form and a full compliment of players to choose from. The Jags were missing players everywhere, and got by with just 1 centurion! An incredible victory against the odds... can they do it twice in a row?

And don't forget reserves!

There are 3 teams (Cairo, London, Rome) who have made Reserves finals but not the seniors.

You may name an indicative senior team if you wish (or I will), which will be used to determine who will not play in your Reserves side. Obviously, this senior team must consist of players you would be naming if you were playing senior finals.

It's interesting to note that the last time New Delhi played Buenos Aires in a final was in a 2016 elimination final. New Delhi would go on to win that match and go all the way to the grand final, before going down to Jaguars.

I wonder if Buenos Aires will again provide the Tigers a GF platform?

Purple 77

How's this for a bunny team?

Pacific average 1472 against the Jagaurs. 1472. Yikes.

They've beaten them 6 times in a row, with an overall 7-1 record. In the H&A season, the Islanders averaged 144 ppg to the Jags 139ppg... the difference in 2022 may not be that big, but there is certainly a 1 sided history here.

Taranto, Kennedy, Jiath are all still out. Worst time of the year to run in to this. Then TDk goes and gets dropped giving me the fabled OOP Ruck + HGA Against combo in a prelim against a behemoth opposition.

There is some positive news to come out of the group. Jeremy Finlayson is back as the first ruck and Todd Marshall returns to the side.

Carn the Jags!
