IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ

AFL teams will be announcing their teams at 6:20pm AEST on Thursday (Wednesday for Thursday night games)



We will be using a partial lockout, please read the rule below.

You are encouraged to name your full team at the start of the round and edit accordingly as teams drop each day. I understand this is not possible for everyone, hence why it would be preferred that people name their full team to begin with.

If you make any edits to your team, please do so in a new 'quote' post.

There is no loopholing allowed in ADT

- Because of the official change to the way the AFL teams are announced you can name six (6) emergencies this year.

- In the event a coach either submits an incomplete team or fails to submit a team at all, they will receive a warning/strike and their submission from last week will be used.

Round 5 - Springfield Steal Another


Springfield (1575) defeat Calgary (1541)

The struggling Springfield notch up their second win of the season, again through the gift of HGA against a Calgary outfit that's struggling just as much. Nic Newman (52) was the hero this time around, with Marshall (108) the only one tor raise the bat among some average scores. Calgary were led by captain Petracca (115) with Witherden (102) and Houston (100) joining in, but Calgary were more inconsistent across the board, though they can feel hard done by as Springfield sneak their way to 2-3.


Dallas (1771) defeat Guadalajara (1553)

Dallas continue their impressive 2022 form, this time cruising past rivals Guadalajara. There were rumours that the premiership points could be redacted because of timewasting by the coach, but the admin has dismissed them. Midfield trio Walsh (113), Oliver (111) and Mills (106) get it done again with another very consistent showing. Steele (112) and Keays (114) continue to get it done, but Guadalajara were let down by Pickett (25) and Hind (45), though it probably didn't matter much in the end. Dallas 5-0, can LA keep up the streak?


Arizona (1716) defeat Washington (1673)

Another cruel blow for Washington as they run into a strong Arizona lineup after posting their best score of the season. Gawn (132) looks like he's back in good touch with another great score getting support from McCluggage (110) and Burton (113) in a strong team performance. Arizona edge past though, almost going through on HGA courtesy of notorious problem child Jack Darling (39), while Ziebell (46) wasn't much better. The good outweighs the bad though with Crisp (125) Macrae (119) and Sicily (118) going large in another good showing. 0-5 for Washington unfortunately, though if they keep this up they'll be getting a win soon.


Bermuda (1717) defeat Los Angeles (1666)

LA have succumbed to the Tiger Sharks! If this is what LA puts up on a bad day though it'll be next to impossible to topple them on their A-game. Several players below their best today, but Brayshaw (123) keeps on keeping on, and the forwards popped off big time too, not going below 92. Aliir Aliir (21) though was a bit of a Killer Killer with a shocking performance. On the Bermuda side of things Bailey Smith (147) continues his impressive start to 2022 with another monster score. Will he get bevo'd? Time will tell. Captain Neale (119) and veteran Ward (115) also pitched in too to round off a great win for Bermuda, though like Arizona if there wasn't any HGA it would be far closer.


El Paso (1429) defeated by Hawaii (1555)

El Paso testing the emergencies this week, naming only 5 mids, one of which was the dropped Lochie O'Brien, and Chad Wingard. They also only named 3 playing emergencies so we're a bit lucky there. And that's just the start, as they've also copped Goldstein (27) and Dahlhaus (18), as well as Butler (37) and Lever (38). You'd be pressed to go on and win from here, and El Paso didn't. Though Green (102) keeps fighting and Parker (123) put in a solid shift. For Hawaii it was fairly regulation with Newcombe (113) getting on top of the old boys to stamp his place in the side and Zorko (109) + Treloar (109) great as well. El Paso also opted to not name Daicos which is unfortunate, but his score wouldn't have mattered in the end.
