Everybody's favourite knockout competition is back!

A simple game...

The lowest scoring team is eliminated each week, until we have a winner!

You can get immunity from elimination if you had the highest score the week before (up until round 10) - in which case the 2nd lowest scoring team is eliminated.

OK, I've done this a little while now, so I may double-up on these references. Thankfully they're as just funny as the first time.

Round 1

It all went wrong the Cobras (974) - their whole performance was a nightm... terror.

Seeing their arch rivals go down last week, Cairo (1162) saw no point continuing.

London (1147) were let down by its own Grimey (Dylan - 21) on their way to a World Idol elimination. Apparently he thought he didn't need PPE for his COVID-stricken Royals, because "I'M JACK DARL..."

As expected can not hope to stay in with1147 lowest score fir ages,

When you move to rebuild, an early exit from World Idol beckons. But Dublin (1122) still thinks they should have scored more if those pesky trades were allowed.

We've heard a lot of the 'year of the jaguar' talk coming from Rio (1165) this year, so this week's exit would be hard to reconcile, especially after trading in all those tall forwards.

It all went horribly wrong, and sees a shock elimination to Mexico City (1128)

No reference in particular, I just think this one sums up Mexico City's energies. They have bigger fish to fry.

Oh my! First Mexico City now Toronto (1111)?! It's open looting season at World Idol this year; I really did think it was Toronto's to lose!

They always seem to make the 2nd half of Idol, but couldn't last as long as previous seasons this time around. Farewell Tokyo (1062)

I've started to reflect that maybe Seoul (1290) aren't what they've been cracked up to be, with their outrageous 2020 success (and 2021 to a lesser extent) behind them. Maybe it's time to put them out to stud...

But the one team that didn't was Christchurch (1306), bringing an end to an impressive run at the Idol.
