My team looks good without him and I had to replace Petracca with J Caldwell to get him. Probably leave him out unless there is a large drop in his ownership. What are peoples thoughts on this ??

I'm holding, too much value to overlook if you think he'll be a top 10 defender. Willing to hear the case for Duggan & Witherden however, these are the other two I'm considering.

Why would start him makes it even more difficult in the backline R1 with teams not being announced till the day before,  you lose a premo score for R1 and if he manages to not get injured before R4 and is going to jump in price get him then

Docherty is the player I'd take but that additional money makes it difficult to squeeze in Campbell at M6. So for me it's a package deal and I think Williams at D5 is a decent punt. Harry Sharp is a confirmed starter, Briggs if named could pull in an 80, that would be timely, even if it's only a week.

He's down to 19% ownership, if he drops down to near 10% I will be very tempted to keep him. One week ago he was one of the best bargains, must haves, of the season. What is a trade worth ? I traded Petracca out, J Caldwell in and then Williams in for defence rookie emergency. So my cost this week is the difference between Petracca's and Caldwell's score. Next week the difference is between Petracca, and Caldwell plus the difference between Koschitzke and Williams. Be interesting to see how it works out. Funny thing is I really like Petracca, but will be very interested to see if Melbourne's new unselfish credo evens up players scores like at Tigerland.

I ended getting Stewart as well. Current defence is .  Laird,  Stewart,  Short,  C Jiath,  J Clark, J Koschitzke , K, Briggs, T Highmore. I had to miss one of the highest priced players per line to fit my side in, so it was Lloyd. I went back through history and he doesn't always start like a house on fire, and he's had a few hiccups preseason. Having said all that he'll probably double ton in round 1. Still have $81.500 to support any rookie changes. Cheers.
