Hi all, hope  all is well. Once more into the fire...

Cookie Cutter possibly so.

Looking at Rowell to Walsh, not sure on Rowell

Which requires Caldwell to Hind. Ok with that.

If Williams gets off .... probably let short go, would like both but would like danger and neale also....

Rookies to be confirmed.

Bully

Only 10 keepers, you will struggle to get a complete side.

Ringo

Welcome back Collie.

May have to adjust defence a little as not sure there will be enough rookies to fill.  A lot of teams are going very light in forwards (myself included)  with Zeibell and Daniher at F2 and F3.  With the forward rookies that look like playing a sound strategy allowing other lines to be strengthened.

Have a look at a few other teams and their structures to see if you like I am going 4 prem def, 4 prem mids with Taranto a possibility at m5, 2 ruck premiums and 1 Prem forward,

Thanks Ringo, thought of you often watching the rise and rise of the Lions. Another good year ahead. Pity about Cam.

I'll take that onboard, have heard the talk of the shortage in DEF rookies. Will have a tweak post Williams outcome.

Might have to let the bomber fwd mid priced option become a rookie and stiffen the backline.

Samsturmfels

your team is fine. Possibly too much risk in fwd line with all of those midpricers.

Tweaked....  thanks for feedback.

I'm not sold on impey, probably a rook will pop up named to replace and probably i'll need the money to switch up other rooks...

Played with oliver to danger , meant keeping ziebell , but end of the day ziebells a cash cow so if i can get the same from $100k all the better.

just didn't feel right having TWO forwards in the midfield. Even though both would be keepers.

Would have liked daniels instead of short , but as you can see I've only got enough money left to catch the bus home.

Hard to find a point of difference.... had butters in , may regret taking him out

Side note: I should be ashamed of not backing my Pie Howe in.

Bully

I really like this side except for Phillips but if you are content with 85-90 then no drama.

Thanks Bully, he did have 30 on the weekend with 9 marks and 7 tackles 1 goal.

I used to know every player inside out can't say I do anymore but fair bit of hype about this lad...

Just a guesstimate but looking at the field I reckon you will eventually want Danger, Sidebottom, Marshall (for ruck security) & possibly Zorko. There's also guys like Bolton who could crack the ton. Nothing against Phillips who's pretty bankable for 85, it's more the gap he will create with coaches who have the players above. Could view him as a stepping stone however, you might strike it lucky with a sneaky sideways.

agree with you on danger definitely and marchall when fit and firing , possibly sidebottom, rookie upgrades.

as for phillips

"Tom Phillips (MID/FWD, $602,000): Lock. Easiest pick of the year. 141 from 71 per cent TOG."

DT not SC but message is the same

I'll roll the dice on him :)

Nice team. Only problem with Phillips is Titch and JOM didn’t play. May effect his output and might be pushed in a wing which will hurt his scoring in compared to what he can do if he’s in the guts. Remember it was also against Norf who’s been experimenting and they were without Anderson and Cunnington. Not saying Phillips is a bad pick, but for an extra $60-$70k I’d go with Bolton/Butters.

Fair call he's a risk, but the best one I can afford.

Like Tommy said, Phillips had 15 CBA's attended behind Shiels and Worpel. That was without O'Meara and Mitchell in the side who are predominantly centre square players. He will be the link man on the wing but he isn't elite by foot which will likely hurt him in SC. He isn't a bad option, I just don't think he will average enough to be outscoring your top 6-8 come the end of the season.

The team looks really nice though, personally I would downgrade Phillips to Ziebell as it gives you a nice chunk of change to play around with. Ziebell was taking a lot of North's kick ins so he looks like a must for the forward line.

Thanks guys, makes a lot of sense but I do love me a break out / midpricer.

Probably make that change tho.

still looking at Taranto + phillips = danger + rook for rookie money,

or short or stewart down to houston for rookie money.

Buoyed by the captains votes for rowell as rising star, no brainer really, he still may start slow but figure we know where he's ending up...

taranto and phillips risky but potentially big paydirt so for now they're still in.
