There's a lot of players that fit somewhere in this bracket, who are we all gambling on?  Anyone else I've missed?

Heppell
Daniher
Ziebell
Cunnington
Cripps
Preuss
Z. Williams
Taranto
Heeney
Buddy
Cameron

Prestia, Marchbank and Yeo are three others that probably can be added to that list.

These guys are all speculative because they're underpriced but is it due to injury, decline or both

Selwood
Sloane
Crouch
Brown

You could probably throw Stewart in the mix even though he is pricey due to the injury game since it was early. I feel Docherty is in the same boat. Missed a couple seasons, picked up niggles and refused to miss due to being on the sideline so long. He ended up with that trash score the second last round due to the injury early.

Dow, Clark, Jones and Atkins are all rookie to low mid price range and should all have opportunities to increase their scoring but provide risk

Heppell was keen as a stepping stone but doubtful R1 and not keen now
Daniher yep flying in all sessions and great cash cow in all likelihood
Ziebell yep good stepping stone
Cunnington no for me
Cripps no for me / had surgery end season / hot cold type / getting Walsh instead
Preuss absolutely sold on having him
Z. Williams must have
Taranto worth considering but probably not starting him
Heeney think he is a great fwd option
Buddy no
Cameron big no

I forgot about Ben Brown too, 50+ goals makes him worth the 260k I reckon.

Agreed with enzedders comments, out of the list I currently have Daniher, Preuss, Ziebell, Brown, Williams and tempted to go Hopper over Taranto.  Have always said he'll be in my team one year, why not this year?

Looking through the list and missed

Milera
Hately

I think this is the year to take the gamble on the underpricrd/midpriced guys. I feel that strategy paid off really well last year with a lot of the top teams having meh teams but not fielding rookies and then sideways trading out to the guns.

Maybe it was the extra trades that made it viable, but I'm also having a tough time finding any rookies that I like and trust on the field.

I could start Cunnington, Yeo, Taranto, Prestia and Cripps at M2 through M6 instead of Steele, Oliver, Macrae, Phillips and Robertson. There is a lot of risk but all those guys but it means you're not copping 4 rookie scores on the field and still have stepping stones.

Heppell is also one of my preferred mid price mids but is probably  missing round 1.

If you're adding Hately you may as well add Caldwell

RaisyDaisy

DEF: Zac Williams is a lock, but even at his slightly discounted price he is still a premo

Milera and Harmes are the two undervalued guys, but I plan on going GnR down back and passing on both of those

MID: Rory Atkins is the only player I am looking to start. At 244k he should go 70+, play every week and make 100-200k. Taranto and Heppell are two I am keeping an eye on too. Taranto needs to turn into keeper, where as Hepp is a legit stepping stone. Hately similar

RUC: Preuss

FWD: This is the line to start light with (to get the other lines solid) as there's plenty of value here. At the moment, JZ and Daniher are in my side, but I'll be watching the likes of Buddy/Hogan/Brown etc leading up to Round 1

Fid

Although a risk with injuries, Hanners is really underpriced considering he is said to be training the house down.

He won the 3km time trial. But don't think he's very SC friendly any more. Reckon 85-90 avg absolute max.

thoughts on ziebell?

Career avg of 82.8, take out last season and he avg 85.9
priced at mid 40s he can definitely make money even if he avg 70s and take the place of an unknown rookie option

This is why he is 100% a must have. Not interested in any conspiracy theories about role or who is coming in or doing whatever.
He will be a cash cow. He will be in my team for 5 weeks or so and then he becomes someone else. Just has to play.

Agreed. Currently my F4

Ingram

Fwds currently Dunkley, Marshall, Ziebel, Daniher, Impy, Campbell - Macrae, Smith with Cockatoo Durdin Rioli M-F linked.

Surely 1 of the 3 will be near keeper territory.

I personally don’t like the JZ pick at all. Think he won’t score as well as people are thinking and has problems with his body.

He’s also priced at 257,900 which with a magic number of 5430 is 24.67 points of value over a 123,900k rookie.

So if he averaged 70 (I don’t think he even gets this) he only breaks even with a 123k rookie averaging 45.

Your paying 100k+ for job security and *maybe* better scoring from a player coming off numerous injuries in a new role. I think the money can be better spent elsewhere.

Ingram

Have to wait and see,. I'm sure one preseason game where he takes a comfy half back role is all most of us need to see.
