New and Improved (again)

Lloyd, Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Jones, Gould (Highmore, Wehr)
Neale, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Rowell, F. Macrae, Cockatoo, Valente (Berry, Downie, Spicer)
Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
Martin, Phillips, Ziebell, Daniher, Impey, Bergman (Rowe, Treacy)
$9,800

13 Keepers (including Phillips who only has to average 90+ to be a decent F6)
3 Midpricers in Ziebell, Daniher and Impey

I think a lot of rookies are popping up as round 1 candidates so I’m confident that this line up is feasible for round 1!

I’m not 100% sold on Phillips but at this price point I think he’s the stand out to take the next step!

I love Whitfield and think I have to start him if he lines up round 1 otherwise he can turn into Mills or Stewart.

Nice team MS,  personally I am leaving Whitfield out due to injury and missing games likelihood.  Williams could break out and go whole season on the ground.  But is unknown.    Rowell - every week I change my mind what do with this kid this year.   May start may become Worpel or Walsh.    Dunkley is so good it is hard to not see him avg 100 and be top 6 fwd unless Bevo plays him at FF or CHF.  Danger if fulltime mid will provide value for money.  At the moment I have Macrea at M3 because no matter who plays onball for Dogs he will still get a ton of ball and score well.   Cripps I have same as you M4 but not sure of his scoring output.  In theory he reverts to his past capability and turns in 115+ which makes him a bargain.

Good options and will be excited to see what is left come rd1 and we know rookies.

Thanks Crowls!!!

Rowell is the big one for me as well!

The closer it gets to the start of the season the closer I get to not starting him!

He’s a second year player coming off a season ending injury! If he averages 90-100 and I don’t start him I’m up!
It’s just whether or not I think he does...

volvelle

Rowell is the question - it will be good to see him run around against Sydney this weekend.

Yep! Still not 100% on him but if he kills it he’ll be too hard to ignore.

Same issue but if say Simpkin, Taranto, Green or similar priced start strong easy trade Rd 3,

rather start one of the above.    green is my preference, bull on the ball similar to oliver.   too much downside with rowell especially as he is still a first year player.

The team I have finally settled on!

Def: Lloyd, Laird, Daniel, Stewart, Briggs, Koschitzke (Sharp, Highmore)
Mid: Neale, Oliver, Macrae, Merrett, Cripps, Powell, Valente, Smith (Brockman, Downie, Gulden)
Ruc: Gawn, Grundy (Hunter)
Fed: Danger, Ziebell, Daniher, Dow, Fullerton, Bergman (Rowe, Treacy)
$ flower All

Contingencies: Each Move Allows one rookie upgrade to a Impey/Clark type player...
Neale > Kelly
Lloyd > Short (plays Thursday so may not be viable) or Ridley
Kelly > Rowell/Taranto/LDU

Hopefully the rookie gods are nice to me and allow me to get 2 playing rookies down back and up forward and 3 in the middle!

12 definite keepers plus Ziebell who I think will be good enough for F6 and Daniher/Dow as the more expensive cash cows!

I have picked who I think will have the top points in each position by seasons end 4 down back, 5 in the middle, 2 in the rucks and 1 up forward.

Thanks heaps for everyone’s feedback!

Bully

As far as keepers are concerned, 12 should be the bare minimum, that's already 20 trades required for a full team.

Definitely agree!

I do however, believe I have all the top players in there respective positions which means I shouldn’t need to use more than two trades per upgrade.

B.

Very similar to mine! Love it. I only put Macrae in for Taranto/Rowell at the weekend. Feel a lot safer with that.

Yep Macrae is in after the weekend for me as well.

I just can’t see him not playing big midfield minutes.

The Team I have settled on...

Def: Lloyd, Laird, Daniel, Stewart, Clark, Koschitzke (Highmore, Murray)
Mid: Neale, Macrae, Merrett, Kelly, Walsh, Powell, Jordan, Downie (Brockman, Gulden, McNeil)
Ruc: Grundy, Gawn (Hunter)
Fwd: Danger, Ziebell, Dow, Warner, Fullerton, Bergman (Rowe, Scott)
$36,000

Going for the endurance machines in the middle as I believe accumulators are going to be the way to go this year rather than impact players (could be wrong)
