Nice team MS,  really like the depth in Def and Fwds.   Could pay off big time.   Mitchell is under injury cloud,  Fyfe is Fragile and expected to spend time up fwd,  Danger is ??,  think you need to look at Zerrett, Kelly and Walsh as the alternative.

As I review other coaches teams it gets harder to stick with a GG ruck combo.   The additional depth seems too beneficial.   Though I am committed to a totally GnR + Danhier start and see if the mathematical modelling of growth benefit of rookies is realised throughout the first half of the season.   Excluding my first year in SC in 2013,  I have gone backwards in the 2nd half of the season 6 out of 7 years.   I want to see if GnR pays off.
I agree that not starting Preuss this year seems like it is going to set people back.
Gawn and Grundy could come out firing though and then the people who don’t start them will be playing catch up all year.

Walsh is definitely someone I would consider as well as Kelly and Merrett!

In saying that if he is lining up round one I’m pretty confident I’ll be starting Danger.

Thanks heaps for your input.

Defenders: Lloyd, Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Bianco, Gould (Wehr, Highmore)
Midfield: Neale, Oliver, Dangerfield, Dunkley, Cripps, Rowell, Durdin, Valente (Durdin, Downie, Spicer)
Ruck: Grundy, Preuss (Treacy)
Forward: Marshall, Martin, Ziebell, Daniher, Cockatoo, Smith (Rowe, Spicer)
$2,600

Don’t know if this will work but I’m liking it so far.

Daniher and Ziebell are almost locks in my team. Didn’t realise Daniher was so cheap.

I have Danger and Dunkley in the midfield and plan on swapping them forward when Ziebell and Daniher are ready to be culled.

Not sure if it’ll go to plan but I really like the idea so far.

What is everyone’s thoughts?

I'm not a fan of your Rucks MS but it allows you to take these risks, but the rest of the team is very good and your strategy with Danger and Dunkley is excellent. I really like it mate.

Thanks Ashmore!

Usually I am set and forget in the rucks but with Preuss being a legit number 1 ruckman with strong on ballers beneath him I think he is really worth the punt.
I see Grundy out scoring Gawn this year as well which made it easier to pick him than Gawn. (Gawn will still be a clear top 2 ruck in my opinion.)

Nice picks.
I did something similar last year with Danger. Was hard to get him back fwd though as I kept needing to trade elsewhere.

Just a note you have Durdin listed twice so assume another rookie.  May need to adjust team though when playing rookies announced as limited cash.

Would prefer only one of Danger or Dunkley in mids though as it could prove difficult to move forward if both Daniher and Zeibell struggle to make cash.

Ruck set will be very popular this year.

Very good point Ringo!

One of them could also become a keeper which would also make things difficult.

New and Improved: Grundy/Gawn Team

Lloyd, Docherty, Williams, Witherden, Jones, Gould (Wehr, Laurie)
Neale, Oliver, Dangerfield, Cripps, Rowell, Heppell, Valente, Bianco (Downie, Spicer, Rioli)
Gawn, Grundy (Treacy)
Marshall, Heeney, Ziebell, Daniher, Macrae, Cockatoo (Rowe, Durdin)
$16,900

13 Keepers including Grundy/Gawn with Heppell, Ziebell and Daniher a slight chance.

This is my deepest team yet.

Docherty and Witherden down back are the two I’ve been eyeing off as those cheaper guys that could easily finish top 10. Docherty his whole career has been a top defender and was on track to do that last year before he had to play through niggles. Witherden has always been a good scorer and should excel in the west coast backline (I see him taking kick ins). Lloyd is going to be the top defender and I don’t wanna start without him like I did last year. Williams should be right up there playing midfield this year.

At this stage Danger is locked for me in the middle. He’ll be a top forward come seasons end and gives me a little bit of extra security up forward if needed. Neale, Oliver and Cripps are all guns and self explanatory. Although, I’m not set on Rowell he could easily go 110+ throughout the season based on the 4 games he played last year. Heppell a nice and easy stepping stone that should go around that 100 mark.

Grundy and Gawn are now locks in the ruck for me. Don’t want the hassle of trying to get them in.

Heeney is underpriced for his 90-100 average you know he is going to get. Don’t see him going crazy but for me he is a safe selection. Should score similarity to Martin. Marshall should only improve this year and gives me that extra security in the ruck, pretty obvious section. I’m taking a bit of a punt and going with both Ziebell and Daniher up forward! They should both go 80+ If healthy and having danger in the middle makes me feel a bit more safe about it.

Only thing I would change is one less back premo and one more forward premo that F3 to F6 looks like a problem to fix if it dosen't work and a lot jumping on Rowell after 5 games for 500K think there are safer options Taranto for one but good team.

Hi Shaker,

Im hoping that having Danger in the middle is enough insurance for me if things are looking a bit shaky up front.

Rowell i really am 50/50 on but he was so good for his first four games last year. I can’t see any reason why he isn’t good enough for M8.

Taranto on the other hand only averaged mid 80s last year and from what I can tell didn’t have any reason as to why he was scoring so low? The much bigger risk for me.

I think it had a lot to do with the shoulder injury he got in the practice games MS I think with a full preseason and no hiccups he will be back to the player he was developing into ...... I hope ;D

Money Shot

That’s totally fair enough.

I guess Taranto and Rowell both have there own risks!

Money Shot

After a whole day of toying with my SuperCoach team due to Dan the Man’s latest lockdown I have my latest team which I am finally really happy with.

Def: Lloyd, Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Jones, Gould (Wehr, Laurie)
Mid: Neale, Oliver, Dangerfield, Cripps, Rowell, Powell, Bianco, Valente (Downie, Spicer, Rioli)
Ruc: Gawn, Grundy (Treacy)
Fwd: Marshall, Heeney, Ziebell, Daniher, Macrae, Cockatoo (Rowe, Durdin)
$8,400

Defenders: I have picked who I see being the top 4 defenders for the year rather than worrying about trying to find someone who can take it to the next level.

Midfield: Neale and Oliver and the clear top two mids in my opinion so they are locked in. Cripps to get back to his best so should be a top 8 mid. Rowell a bit of a risk but I don’t want to miss out if he starts like a house on fire. Dangerfield in the miss is a must for me. He’ll be a top forward and he gives me insurance if my weaker forward line is having dramas.

Rucks: Gawn/Grundy are locked in for now. Will revert back to Preuss if I have to but I don’t want the headache of trying to get either of them in when it is almost a guarantee that they’ll be the top two rucks come seasons end.

Forward: Marshall is locked in as he should be a top 6 forward and gives the ruck line that extra bit of security. Heeney is underpriced for what he can produce! When fit he is a 95-100 forward and that should be enough for him to be a decent F6. Ziebell and Daniher can both go 80+ and with them being less than 100k more than rookies for me it’s a no brainer to start them.

Excellent side MS, only concern is Heeney at F2. Will he be ready for round 1. If he is, will be under done.. Who's your insurance if doesn't come up?

Money Shot

He is my only concern as well!

Shai Bolton would be my back up.

Reckon he is due for a big year based on watching him in real life last year.
