Hey finalists!

I'll formalise OP in coming day or two, but for now, I'll need all of you to submit a team in case you progress to the semi finals.

Semi Finals, AFL Round 16

Home Team                             Away Team                             Venue                                         Head-to-Head
Beijing ThunderDublin DestroyersBeijing Olympic Park6  v  4
Cape Town CobrasPNL ReindeersNewlands Cricket Ground2  v  8

There will be a FULL LOCKOUT at the commencement of Richmond v Fremantle at 7.10pm AEST

YOU MUST NAME EIGHT ( 8 ) EMERGENCIES

Beijing v Dublin
Head-to-Head: 6 v 4
Last time they played (Round 16): Beijing Thunder (23.11.149) def Dublin Destroyers (22.6.138)
2020 Head-to-Head: 9 v 9
Purps' Takeaway: The Thunder feature again in my MATCH OF THE ROUND! Beijing really would have liked a free ride to the prelim, as Dublin shape up as a more than worthy opponent. In 2020, if Beijing & Dublin played each week, they'd have each won half the time. However, Dublin would have won the first 4 games, and Beijing has won 4 of the past 6... but not including last week. Dublin's timing of form has looked good, with 4 scores of 149+ in the past 6 weeks. But I do think they are still prone to a stinker... so it'll be interesting to see which Dublin turns up. I'll back Beijing, because surely Greale returns to that overpowering form?

Cape Town v PNL
Head-to-Head: 2 v 8
Last time they played (Round 10): Cape Town Cobras (20.8.128) lost to PNL Reindeers (20.10.130)
2020 Head-to-Head: 13 v 5
Purps' Takeaway: A fascinating match-up. Cape Town has clearly been the better team this year, as evidenced by more wins, more points scored, and a 13 v 5 h2h. But... look at the historical h2h, and the last time they played! PNL have Cape Town's measure: fact. And the really interesting part? 3 of PNLs 5 'wins' against Cape Town this year have come in the past 4 weeks, including last week. The pressure is on Cape Town entirely, where if we were to fairly reward effort, deserve to make the prelim this year. But this game is not fair. Not at all. I just have a feelin PNL get up!

And don't forget reserves!

Three teams (Tokyo, New Delhi, Buenos Aires) have made Reserves finals but not the seniors.

Given the poor notice on my part, I will be naming your final XV based on form and your historical naming of players.  If you would like to challenge my selection, I will entertain it.

After Richmond & Collingwood players

Beijing really, really would have loved more from Grundy. But, it's not all bad, given Dusty had an absolute stinker for Dublin.

Cape Town... that's a disappointing start. But, it's still recoverable. PNL meanwhile would be seeing that Madgen potentially could form as a lifesaving late in yet!

Purple 77

Both matches are delicately poised!

Cape Town know what the formula looks like. Assuming HGA of 35, the following players have to score 272 points for victory:

Samuel Collins (80 av)
Tom Papley (81)
Ben Ainsworth (77)
Jack Bowes (88)

They average 326... can the Cobras hold their nerve? We've seen this team choke hard in years gone by, have they put it behind them?

Despite the below from Holz to me in Discord 2 days ago

think dublin season over
so trade season starts

... Dublin are in a good spot. Assuming HGA of 48, Dublin are 278 with 2 extra played. Yes, Beijing still have Captain Neale waiting in the wings, and YES, if he scores his average he will single handedly chase down that margin, but... I'm starting to doubt the Thunder here. I think they've got the wobbles.

2 extra player and Captain played so its 278 with 3 extra player really.

need Neale to repeat his round 13 game and drop a 70
