The stretching out of games has probably changed a few of my trades as well. I would have traded Starcevich after the 38 in round 5. Instead I kept him and dumped him at a 50k loss round 10. I wasn't sure if Williamson was going to get named those weeks and held him because I knew Starcevich was named. I basically didn't want to risk the potential donut with Hill being a possible late out at any minute and Brander a rolling donut. In hindsight I was better off copping the donut

What are your expectations at start of the season.  I normally expect 4 of my final fwd/def to be top 6 avg for the year.   Ruck needs to be top 2 of top 3 rucks as drop can be up to 500+ points over a season.
Mids at least 6 of top 10 mids.     Selection is based on expectation of 2000 min points total for starting keepers in def and fwds, 2400 Plus for mids  and 2500+ for rucks.   (over 22 game season) 


Almost time to start looking at 2021 rookies.

Dont see it Ringo,  starting price this year for 100-101 avg was 550k.    My initial though was in line with yours but on looking at it closer unless there is something else on top of 30% discount be closer to 400k.
Not going to stop me having him even if he has a dud 2nd year,  the risk is too great.   5 weeks into the season he could be at 600K.

year it has hurt my team so bad picking Simpkin/Baz over Trac, Greenwood and Brayshaw (who i traded out) at the time.

man, the number of coaches who traded Brayshaw is higher than I realised.   Went close to bringing him back in just couldnt find the trade at the right time to make it happen.   Would have been better than trading cripps back in after i traded him out in r2 with brayshaw.

Rd.17 SC preliminary Final.
Made Gawn VC and was going to take his score. Left a loop hole but named all emergencies which closed it. Decided to take Rivers score and leave out Docherty who was under a cloud. Checked to see what trades were available for Riccardi and decided to carry the doughnut. Put everything back the way it was and missed out on Rivers. Still fluked 5 of my leagues including the money league but lost my own league by a mere 5 points. Was suffering domestic interference during these events but no excuses as I stuffed up most royally. Oh what the hell 5 GF's and 2 trades to go. Cheers all.

R17, kept Docherty on field instead of taking Rivers score and lost a final by 10 points and 2 other finals by less than 25.
It also stopped me from entering the top 1000.

Biggest mistake this year which has costed me a place in the Top 100 would have to be trading:

Neale - J Kelly (Rd 14) Kelly gets Ko'd
J Kelly - Oliver (Rd 16) Oliver has gone sub 100 in both games since

Gawn - Goldstein (When he got injured)
Goldstein - Gawn (When he came back the week after)

Was debating between Doedee and Ridley in Rd 3 and chose Doedee

Traded in Simpson, Hill, Ling, Ruscoe over other rookies which cost me 4-5 trades

Traded out Rivers instead of Pickett in Rd 10

I've done a lot of things right this season, but Rd.13 really stuffed my me up on the run home.

Sicily and McPherson injured, and Houston Covided, meant I needed to bring in 2 defenders.

Picking Z Williams and Witherden ahead of guys like Crisp, Daniel, Haynes, Saad, Maynard, May, Sheppard has been a horror show.

To top it off, I then chickened out of Captaining NicNat (146) and stuck with Neale (72) and it just killed my season's momentum.

I got to a season high ranking of 303, but have battling to stay inside the Top 1000 coming home.
