Trying to decide which 2 trades to do this week and want to make sure I nail them.

Obvious choice to me is to bring in Lloyd and Greenwood but that will take up most of my cash.

If I bring in Houston and Whitfield I still have around $260,000 for next week to make another upgrade.

Team below -

B - Docherty, Sicily, Ridley, Doedee, Starcevich, Williamson (Rivers, Gould)

M - Neale, Macrae, Mitchell, Cripps, Simpkin, Viney, M.Pickett, Simpson (McInerney, Brown, Bennell)

R - Gawn, Grundy

F - Petracca, Brayshaw, D.Smith, Taylor, King, Rankine ( Budarick, Sturt)

$830,400 in the kitty.

It's a tricky one.

In one respect, I would say go for the best. Comparing to my situation, I'm currently ranked 722 but don't have Gawn. With Pitt laying an egg last week, I'm going to have to spend all my bank to get in Gawn this week, which means I'm probably going to have to look at cheaper guys for future upgrades, and won't be able to afford guys like Greenwood, Treloar, etc.

On the other hand, you still have more rookies on the field than I do, so going cheaper upgrades this week enables you to get more rookies off the field quicker.

Ringo

Why not Starcevich to Lloyd instead of Rivers who will no doubt get games with the shorter turn arounds.  Starcevich has peaked so need to get him off the field.

Yeah that's what I am debating on mate.

Getting the cheaper options in like Houston and Whitfield allows me to get rookies off the groiund quicker in following weeks as I can say go King > Bailey Smith the week after with my $276,000 leftover.

I am just trying to decide if Houston is the real deal now. How he goes from half back to midfield all the time scares me a bit as he doesn't have a settled position but 3 tons in a row is hard to ignore.  :-\

Was thinking of keeping Starc all year as bench cover as his JS is rock solid.

I could go Williamson > Lloyd and Brown > Egg Smith via Rivers too and leave Starc as my D7.

Yeah Houston is a tough one to read. Against Brisbane he played off half back and scored a ton. Against GWS he moved back in the middle when Rocky was dropped, another ton. I didnt see where he played last weekend, but he was on 49 at 3/4 time. Smashed out a huge last quarter.

He think he’s a bit of a mr fixit for Ken, but his position doesn’t seem to directly correlate to his scores.

Lloyd's probably the way safer option than Houston but that $100,000 saving is what is tempting me with Houston. Haha!

I'm not sure Lloyd is worth it this year - been tossing up whether to get him or not myself but just haven't come around on it yet

He's consistent, which is the appeal, but he's only really had 2 big scorers

A lot of the time he seems to put up very low tons, and I'm not sure that's worth 600k, especially in a shortened year

I'd be moving Simpkin to the fwd line and bringing in a premo mid, and then bringing in a prem defender

If i was you i'd just go with your gut and pick who you want.

if it was me id go Williamson to Lloyd (he is expensive though) and King to one of B.Smith/Whitfield

then the following week C.Taylor to a premo mid (e.g Luke Parker).

When we know more, id also recommend to consider the byes.

Not so sure Starc JS is rock solid. Withers & Answerth would both be candidates for his spot I reckon. As for the trades I voted for Houston & Whit + $260K. If not I would def take the 1st option (Lloyd & Hugh). Anyway, Good Luck!

jfitty

Since you have Gould already on the bench not playing, I wouldn't be trading Starc since he has the rock-solid JS. Option 1 for me for sure.

Lloyd is definitely worth it for me. 6 straight tons, with the only blemish being in round 1. I'd rather have him than not, will most likely finish as the #1 defender again.

Simpkin to FWD Budarick to MIDS but no coverage FWDS (unless Sturt recovery and playing)
Upgrade MIDS (not Buderick keep the F/M link)
Whitfield or Treloar for me
Wait the week on the other trade

I would prob upgrade Starc to Lloyd as everyone has said, trade either Taylor/King/Budarick to Luke Parker via DPP for an underpriced guy who is low owned and carrying the Swans midfield.  Out of the box, but sometimes that's what you gotta do.

Holz

Smith i think is a must either this week or next week.

100+ at low 400k is a bargain.
