Collusion

To get us cracking for Season 2020, you'll be sliding into my DMs for this mini-game.
Those who were with us last season will have encountered this one in Round 16 last year.

This week, you'll need to select one player per AFL team, with the following catch,
Every other participant who selects this player will see a (-10DT) applied to their score

For instance, I select Dayne Beams and he scores 130DT, unfortunately, 3 other people do the same.
As a result, Dayne gets a 3 x 10DT penalty, 30DT, meaning his 'real' score is 100DT

Submit 18 players, one per team, privately to me
They will be revealed progressively as each game occurs

1 owner -- no penalty
2 owners -- 10pt reduction
3 owners -- 20pt reduction
4 owners -- 30pt reduction
5 owners -- 40pt reduction
6 owners -- 50pt reduction
7 owners -- 60pt reduction
8 owners -- 70pt reduction
9 owners -- 80pt reduction
10 owners -- we're probably getting into the negatives at this point

The aim is, of course, to score the most DT points possible between your 18 players
Psychological manipulation of your opponents in this thread is welcome

I'm going to just pick the best player from each team.  The rest of you will over think it looking for pods and I will win comfortably

Holz

Im going to pick the 3rd best player from every team and you can have your 110 -60 penalty Gig

To confirm, we have a rolling lockout for this mini-game, so you can change/make your selections right up until the bounce of each respective game.

GL: Kane Lambert (37) & Brodie Grundy (52) = 89
Tom: Bachar Houli (90) & Steele Sidebottom (73) = 163
SL: Dion Prestia (55) & Brodie Grundy (52) = 107
BM: Dustin Martin (73) & Brodie Grundy (52) = 125
Gig: Dion Prestia (55) & Brodie Grundy (52) = 107
Nige: Bachar Houli (90) & John Noble (41) = 131
Wato: Kane Lambert (37) & Taylor Adams (100) = 137
Urb: Kane Lambert (37) & Brody Mihocek (29) = 66
Holz: Dion Prestia (55) & Steele Sidebottom (73) = 128
Koop: No Submission (0) & No Submission (0) = 0

Well, first of all, we really need to adjust our expectations for this mini game this season. Brodie Grundy was an unsurprisingly popular pick, four owners dragging him down to a half century. Taylor Adams was the pick of the pies, owned uniquely by Wato and raising the bat. No love for Scott Pendlebury nor Tom Phillips, who both also tonned. Only one tiger ton, with Houli contributing an adjusted 90 for his two owners.

Tom leads the pack with 163, with Wato, Nige, Holz & BM within early touching distance. Obligatory 1.5m joke.
Urb struggled, and only put 66 points on Koop, who failed to submit for tonight's game.

GL: Mitch Duncan (43) & Tom Mitchell (20) = 63

BM: Patrick Dangerfield (84) & Tom Mitchell (20) = 104
Gig: Patrick Dangerfield (84) & Tom Mitchell (20) = 104
Nige: Tom Stewart (60) & Liam Shiels (37) = 97
Wato: No Submission (0) & No Submission (0) = 0
Urb: Tom Stewart (60) & Chad Wingard (60) = 120
Holz: Mitch Duncan (43) & Tom Mitchell (20) = 63
Koop: Mitch Duncan (43) & Tom Mitchell (20) = 63

What else can I say but boy-oh-boy wowee what about this. I am running out of colours for the key. An insane 6 (of 9) coaches selected Tom Mitchell, dragging his mediocre 70 down to a woeful 20. Mitch Duncan, the supposed left-field selection was not far behind with 4 selections. In fact, every coach who picked Mitch Duncan also picked Tom Mitchell! Collusion... I'm onto you all.

Patrick Dangerfield was pick of the night, with 84. Liam Shiels was very underwhelming with 37, but his uniqueness pushed him above Tom Mitchell regardless. Only one DT ton, Gryan, who sat on 0DT at quarter time. Nobody picked him regardless. Joel Selwood or Brandon Parfitt would have made for handy unique selections. Tom retains a handy lead.

GL: Lachie Neale (89) & Michael Walters (85) = 174
Tom: Mitch Robinson (75) & Andrew Brayshaw (72) = 147
SL: Hugh McCluggage (49) & Michael Walters (85) = 134
BM: Lachie Neale (89) & Nat Fyfe (88) = 177
Gig: Lachie Neale (89) & Nat Fyfe (88) = 177
Nige: Jarryd Lyons (66) & Rory Lobb (39) = 105
Urb: Daniel Rich (69) & Rory Lobb (39) = 108
Holz: Jarryd Lyons (66) & Michael Walters (85) = 151

BM & Gig were on the same page, both selecting former teammates Lachie Neale and Nat Fyfe for a very healthy 177 combined. SL would be disappointed with a late change from Dayne Zorko to Hugh McCluggage leaving 23DT behind. Tom with the first pair of uniques for this week. Rory Lobb owners would be disappointed with his adjusted score of just 39DT.

Charlie Cameron (92), Luke Ryan (89), James Aish (87) and Oscar McInerney (85) all would have been brave but effective unique selections.

GL: Patrick Cripps (57) & Clayton Oliver (81) = 138
Tom: Ed Curnow (76) & Christian Petracca (108) = 184

BM: Patrick Cripps (57) & Max Gawn (113) = 170
Gig: Patrick Cripps (57) & Max Gawn (113) = 170
Nige: Jack Martin (47) & Jake Melksham (38) = 85
Urb: Ed Curnow (76) & Ed Langdon (75) = 151
Holz: Sam Docherty (88) & Clayton Oliver (81) = 169

Sam Docherty was the pick of the Blues, owned only by Holz, he dished up a very respectable 88. Patrick Cripps was popular and consequently his score was dragged back to just 57DT. Tom secured a unique ton with Christian Petracca, but despite his two owners, Max Gawn was the leader for the Dees with 113. Nige would be pretty disappointed with his two selections combining for just 85DT. Interestingly, BM & Gig had the same pair for the third consecutive match, with only 1 differing pick after 4 matches. Did somebody say collusion?

Port Adelaide vs Adelaide

GL: Tom Rockliff (85) & Brodie Smith (45) = 130
Tom: Robbie Gray (61) & Rory Sloane (46) = 107
SL: Connor Rozee (76) & Rory Sloane (46) = 122
BM: Tom Rockliff (85) & Matt Crouch (72) = 157
Gig: Travis Boak (92) & Brad Crouch (67) = 159
Nige: Karl Amon (68) & Brad Crouch (67) = 135
Urb: Brad Ebert (91) & TT Lynch (82) = 173
Holz: Tom Rockliff (85) & Brad Crouch (67) = 152

The undisputed king of mini games fell off the perch a little here, struggling with just a combined 107, though a midgame injury to Sloane was largely to blame. Urbs nailed two unique picks for a combined 173, with both Ebert & Lynch the highest DT scorers of any selected players from their respective clubs. Rockliff did what Rockliff does, but popularity was his detriment.

You would have been a brave soul to select Butters (114), Motlop (93) or Duursma (92), while the lone crow to ton, Reilly O'Brien (103) also escaped selection.
