Will probably wait until teams are named to finalise otherwise all im doing is guessing. Ever year I second guess choices and invariably the players I bring in fail, this was the first year in a while I stuck with my team and lo and behold it worked in R1.

I believe that a lot of people will make trades for the sake of making trades, looking at short term benefit rather than the longer term benefit of the team.

Defence Premiums - Sicily & Houston didn't score as well as id have hoped. If I was to trade either it would need to be a sideways or downgrade to a breakout. Only legit option here is Howe (no one else scored well enough to warrant a sideways) and we know he can score well, but he is also just as likely to hit a 60. I feel that is trade is chasing points. Im comfortable keeping both.

Defence Rookies - There was no real rookie that needs to be picked. Plus there is no cheap options that have already played. Happy to keep the ones I have and adjust going forward if required.

Mid Premiums - Danger & Bont were the 2 underperformers and given the lack of trades needed on other lines I have the opportunity here to make a correction or 2. Viney is a logical choice as he is going to skyrocket this week, but it is only 1 week. Mitchell I was impressed with enough to make me think he would be a good option. Alternatively I could bring in Heeney/Gray etc as a optiont to DPP into the Fwd line quickly.

Mid Rookies - Started a 0 scorer to take Picketts score, so perfect opportunity to correct this. Robertson is the only on that ive missed whom I took out the get the score.

Ruck - Started Naismith & Grundy so no change needed, Suace would be nice for the cash, but no opportunity in my team for him.

FWD Premiums - All my prems scored over 100 so no change needed

FWD Rookies - If named Sturt & Georgiades need to come in to my team. Got Cavarra, King & Budarick whom all could drop out. Budarick could swing to mids for my 0 score if I think it is a better option and open up a DPP link.

Naismith likely to miss so you will have to do something in the rucks if no backup. Robertson is expected to be dropped.

Don’t know what option to go
1.
Laird/Houston- Howe
Oliver- Neale
Cavarra- Fort
Roberton- rookie

2.
Roberton- Howe
Oliver- Viney
BZT- Rookie
100k left over

Pre teams being announced I'm looking at these trades

Out : Bont , English , B Smith , Z Guthrie , Cavarra

In   : Viney , D Cameron ( R2 ) Howe , Byrne-Jones , Rozee

Willing to take Cameron's score at R2 to have Byrne-Jones and Rozee onfield instead of rookies if Cameron dosen't hold his place I'll have a 5 strong FWD line to cull one for a rookie that performs well this week and upgrade R2 ?

Option 2 because I wouldn't get rid of Laird or Houston.

Thinking the following:

1. Bont to Neale - Neale's run at the Gabba looks irresistible with Bont likely to drop significant cash.
2. Macpherson to Bewley - bad call being sucked into the preseason hype. Expecting similar or better output from Bewley at an almost 200K saving. Finances trades 4 and 5.
3. Brayshaw to Sturt - Do not think Brayshaw is going to be the mid price forward line savior i hoped given limited TOG. Cash Grab to get the best missed rookie. Finances trades 4 and 5.
4. Roberton to Howe - Roberton looks well off the pace and based on round 1 seems to no longer be the primary play maker out of the saints backline. Howe to be free'd up and get back to a 90+ average.
5. Green to Viney - Expecting Viney to get near 100 for at least the next couple of weeks and go up 100K. Green to be dropped.

Leaves me with the below team, with a view to go BZT-Hill and Cavarra-Bennell next week

D: Sicily, Doc, Howe, Houston, Noble, Brander (BZT, Starcevich)
M: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Titch, Viney, Rowell, Pickett, T Brown (Budda, McInerney, Robertson)
R: Grundy, Gawn (Xerri)
F: Dusty, D Smith, Ceglar, Bewley, C. Taylor, Sturt (Georgiades, Cavarra)

Current plan which allows me to hold Bont:
BZT to Howe
Macpherson to Viney
Green to Brown
Guthrie to Bewley
Cavarra to Sturt

Feel like that’s 5 big wins...

Mitchell & Gray are no's for me as both have miggles/low contact training.
I have Mcevoy in the forward line as backup, so no issues for me.

Trent Rivers was the donut I brought in and has been announced to play, Given he is a Mid/Def DPP I think ill hold him just incase.

Neither IMO, I personally feel your team would be worse with both options

jfitty

Other than switching some rookies, I think the only other trade I’ll do is move Brayshaw on.

Who are we liking in the forwards?

Wingard
Heeney
Walters
Greenwood
Rozee
Petracca

Got some cash to spend, hard to split the options..

Greenwood for mine.

Greenwood safe as houses with midfield time. Don't mind Rozee as a PoD though.

Heeney, then Greenwood and as a POD Petracca.
