What about if you do well in SC and win some money would that rekindle your interest?

Don't get me wrong, I love playing SC and my interest overall (beyond this year) is just as strong as ever. I just don't have any interest in this particular season for obvious reasons

Winning a few bucks is always nice, but unless it's the 50k (no chance after my Round 1 lol) this season is still going to be meh to me

I'll watch, I'll play, I'll still be here, I just don't care about the outcomes/results, and it seems like most people I am talking to feel the same

Well if that is the case this is the year to try some risky trading which is what I think I'll be doing even though I'm looking forward to some footy in any form.

Yep, definitely the year to go against the norm

We can use all 5 trades now, then double trade every single round thereafter and still have 3 trades left for finals!

Peter

That’s it - just got to know who’s playing to get started for the crazy first week

Only locked in 2 trades so far, McCasey to Geargiades and Nic Nat to Naismith.  Will wait to see what rookies are named before I make any more.  Was going to hold Nic Nat, but after Simmo's comments that he'll still play 80% or less, plus have a spell puts me off.

People who are saying they’re not looking forward to footy are lying to themselves

When the competitive nature of it comes back and a month in the ladder starts to take shape you’ll get the fever again, lmao won’t take much

Round 1 was boring as f*ck

Without crowds, it's just a hard watch for me. We're basically watching intra club matches which isn't overly exciting. I can watch one once in a while, but every single game like that? No thanks, I'd rather watch/be doing other things and just keep tabs on the score/results

I do agree though, in that as the season progresses so will interest levels, but they're not going to get to the normal levels for me personally.

Anyway, we should probably get back on track and talk Round 2 trades

upthemaidens

I don't know why they don't just CGI a crowd with noise, TV viewer would barely know the difference.

Peter

I can tell you RD, as a Pies supporter, Round 1 was not boring. Won’t feel the same way after next Thursday, but enjoyed R1 immensely

I have said the same thing from the get go.
The NRL did the noise and it really worked, up until you saw the empty seats which just screwed with your brain ;D
Anyway, Bont out for Viney and King out for Sturt and Roberton out for  PREM DEF for me.

justaverage

Thinking the following :
Oliver -> Viney for $$$
BZT -> Doedee
Cavarra -> Sturt
Green -> Naismith

Keeping Roberton and happy with rest of rookied

shaker

Looking at who's available on the AFL's best 22 for round two 7 of my rookies look to be on shaky ground.

Backs : BZK , Z Guthrie , Starcevich
Mids   : Green , Budarick
Fwd's  : Cavarra , Davis
That might put a damper on getting rid of some premos .... can we please have 10 trades  :D

Ringo

That is the issue
At the moment done 2 trades and waiting to see on rookies:
Budarick may survive though given reports coming from Suns and apart from Cavara I have same rookies McAsay.

Trade completed Bont to Viney and Roberton to Howe.

Think cash generation is going to be more important with the shortened season.

whynot102

Given this Ringo is Grundy to Naismith crazy or genius move

Grundy to Naismith is crazy as you lose a Vc/C option. Gawn to Naismith maybe though.

Can someone explain the Viney thing to me... Career ~90avg guy, obviously went huge round 1, but do people think that he's really going to be in the 105-115 range this year? Why?

Keeper27

Wouldn't gawn to naismith make more sense. Gawn to lose money while naismith will make money
