Hi guys, I’m keen to bring in Rivers this week but not sure wether to trade the non playing BZT or McAsey who scored terribly in round 1 and may lose $. I make $60k with either one.
Would appreciate some thoughts!

Any reason why your going rivers?
The downgrade price wise helps elsewhere and I was pretty keen to pick Rivers if he played round 1. I have BZT, McAsey and Starcevich and not sure who to field anyway. If I keep BZT I may Emg loop Starcevich.

I'm not bringing in Sturt or Georgiades. Firstly you don't know how long they'll be on the sidelines injured. Then when they are fit I don't think they walk back into either side. Port have Dixon back and Freo are expecting Hogan and Acres soon which will change their structure. I'd rather take the risk on Bennell and Rivers.

I went to make 3 trades earlier. I was looking at dumping Green, Davis and Cavarra (while being stuck with McAsey and Williams). The only rookie I liked the look of was Bennell and he may not stay healthy.

Caldwell is a gun but may not get a clean run in that GWS team. He is also super pricey. Rivers openes up a DPP link with Starcevich but if they both suck then that's a waste. Here is a list of all the other rookie priced players (that I don't own anyway)

Schultz - too pricey and small forward. Meh
Gardner - burnt me last year and will score a nice 40 this week
Anderson - too expensive
Smith - expensive and injury prone
Jackson - traded in Cameron at R3 already
Crocker - terrible player and a small forward
Hayden - no idea who he even is
Berry - I know he is Jarrod Berry's younger brother, on field I have no idea if he is any good because  I've never seen him play
McHenry - struggled in pre-season, would like to see one game at the top level.
Vandermeer - I have no idea who he is

I can also afford Townsend who looks like making cash but had 9 touches and 3 goals for the ton. He won't kick 3 for the rest of the year.

I'm leaning towards just the double trade to grab Rivers and Bennell early to bring the total up to 3 for the round.

Ended up doing these trades:
Out: Bont, Roberton, BZT, Green, Davis
In: Viney, Howe, Rivers, Cameron, Bennell
Cameron was emergency but Georgiades will come on.
Only non scoring players I have  are Xeri and Georgiades.

I remember that, he looked good early in that game as well.

Quoting this because you'll be sorry when he kicks another bag very soon :p

He won the goal kicking comp at training the other day. Absolute sharp shooter and a decent mark. He will make some cash I'm sure of it.

I just looked up his profile and it looked like he was tagging? Not a bad score for a quarter of footy, but not enough sample size to bring in a guy that is coming off a major injury and is pricier than other rookies. He would be a wait and see prospect.

I'm still no closer to figuring out what I want to do. I'm leaning towards just the two in Green and Davis for Rivers and Bennell.

Green to Bennell is the only trade I'm really certain on, but with prices changing over two games instead of three I feel I may need to pull the trigger on a couple of early ones this week.

I'm also being mindful that those big round 1 scores (or terrible ones in McAsey's case) are out of the rotation after this week. That's why guys like Townsend aren't overly appealing.

Yes he is accurate, but that means nothing if you don't win the ball within range. There is a reason this is his third team. 2018 he played 10 games at Richmond, he started the season with 9 touches and 4 goals for a decnetish score. He backed it up with 5 touches 1 goal and a 41 in round 2 followed by a 9 touch, 0.2 and 26 SC performance in round 3. History says he will have the odd decent game but then return to what he is. A reserves comp player. At over 220k that's a pass

EDIT

So Hayden Young has been named. I'm now thinking of the following to leave me the most flexibility for next week.

Green>Bennell
Davis>Rivers using Budarick
Cavarra>Young using Brander

So that's 4 trades and about 50k in the bank. It also means I can make correction trades for McAsey and Starcevich next week without compromising my structure.

Starcevich with a 94, pity he is on my bench

Mat0369

I had the E on him to loophole with McAsey. Williams is now on my field so I'll be taking that. Young scored meh but looked decent. Starcevich will make some nice coin so that's a plus.

BZT being kept now and taking Starcevich. Mchenry on Field, Rivers and Budarick on Bench. Rivers started well so might be an incorrect choice
The Trade plan I had worked a treat so far, especially as BZT might come back next week.

BZT should come straight back in.

I did the same thing with him. Kept him and was able to take Starcevic's score.

I've only made 2 trades. I traded Roberton out for Rivers and Cavarra out for Townsend.

Glad I didn't buy the Viney hype

Yep, and he was tagged for at least half of the match

Mat0369

False, Curnow went to Petracca after quarter time. Viney just couldn't back up the huge performance from the week prior. The monster score will be out of his rotation come round 3 which is whyI figured it wasn't worth the risk.
