The AFL seems like an afterthought this year with everything else that has transpired, and no one truly knows what is going to happen this year. Will the games start as expected behind closed doors, will the season be shortened, or will we delay the start. No matter what is ultimately decided, one thing we can all agree on, AFL is only a sport and its importance pales in comparison to health and safety.

With changes in rules, unknowns about trades, league matchups, no byes and limited good rookie options. This year the strategy and trade moves will be of high priority when looking to be successful. It is likely to separate the Men from the Boys.

While there is only one league this year, you don’t want to take the competition for granted as 15 of the players have history within division 1 and truly proven in the past they have what it takes. While the 3 players who are entering Div 1 for the first time have all proven they can hang with the best of them, now it’s time to show it. To be successful you will need to beat 17 other strong competitors, but know if you do, you will have truly deserved it.

The knockout comps and other side games will go ahead still, I will provide detail on this once we know more about how the AFL will setup this year.

Good luck

Luck to us all. The times will benefit from a football season, however curtailed.
