Ringos 2020 Team Thread

Initial Team and will no doubt change 100s of times over the next months. Just setting initial Structure,

Watch being kept on Bennell and Roberton,

Def: Williams, Houston, Dawson, Docherty, Doedee, Gould (Rivers, Grundy)
Mid: Macrae, Neale, Cripps, Mitchell, Bontempelli, Rowell, Pickett, Hibberd (Rantall, Mead, Budarick)
Ruck: Grundy, Naitanui (Comben).
Fwds: Whitfield, Martin, Steven, Hill, Ely Smith, Rankine (Phillips, Rosas)

The decision that will change over time is do I pay up for Gawn as R2 and weaken another line or not? Jordan Dawson the floater in the equation.

2nd Look using the Gawn/Grudy Combo

Think you gotta go Grundy and Gawn, Nic Nat is too big an injury risk. I'd go Jacobs ahead of Nic Nat.

Grundy and Gawn for me as well. A lot of money, but either of them can easily be chosen for Captain in matches. They are just too good.

After a little bit of research and a few plays around this is the team I will sit on for a while until we start to get an idea of which rookies may start Rd 1.

Couple of comments:
After toying around with R2 of Jacobs, Nat etc reverted back to GG combo as they give solid vc/c options as well. Chose Comben as R3 as if Grundy goes down can swing Cameron back. Also with North having 12 Sunday games ideal VC loophole.

Set the structure with 5 prem mids but have options if need to change. Left Mitchell out as want to see how he comes back and could be a price fall.

Defence can see Vlaustin filling the Rance ole which will keep up his consistent scoring. Have Hill at D6 but can interchange with Brander if need be.

Forward line is a little weak but with GG taking up a large chunk of cash one line had to suffer.

Nice mate. No need to tinker too much now. Similar to mine but I like how you've filled the defence. This could be the set up to go for if defensive rookies are few and far between.

I just can't see a scenario where relying on 5 fwd rookies is going to work out - moving Hill fwd and bringing in Gould is a quick fix, but even then I'd want Hill at F5 and not F4

Thank You - Not entirely happy either but awaiting to get an idea of what rookies may be available. Could be that I may have to adjust a mid to a mid pricer to accommodate or drop one of Roberton or Doedee to a rookie.
The GG combo has made things a little difficult but you can not afford to start with both.

Potentially drop Roberton to Worrell, move Hill Fwd and grab Bonar?
Gives you Whitfield, Dusty, Jack, Bonar and Hill plus rookie.
