Liverpool v Oxford, please make it happen.
With the winner to be awarded the prestigious Ethan Hughes Cup.

Some checking required by you all.

All teams have been entered into UF.  Can you check your teams to ensure they are entered correctly and advise any changes required subject to my verification. A lot of manual input required so there is a possibility I have made a mistake.

Lions have Sam Murray who is not on a list so will be playing one short and hoping picked up in preseason draft.
Hawks have Harley Bennell who is not yet listed on UF as yet. Still unsure whether Demons have signed him.

Also will close any changes to rivalry round next week to enable draw to be completed.  Rivalry Round will be Rd 1.
Only change advised so far is Rams to Lions so that means Giants and Werewolves by default will be rivals unless advised differently.

Also comment on the proposed rule changes as vote will also be sent out next week as well.

Footy is back and bring on the rivalries,

Ringo

As I will be away for 6 weeks in July August any objections to making NAS a league manager as well to assist GL over this period.

Gee a lot has happened since this last post and I am not going overseas now.

As footy is about to restart and with a shortened season some comments appreciated here  before sending out votes on the weekend prior to Thursdays restart,

With looking like having all Thursday night games for the rest of the year do we adjust our lock out to match now in UF till first Saturday game.  Means only 2 games in most cases although we do not know whether we will have more Friday night games.  Teams will still needed to be recorded in thread though as well.

With competition over 17 Rounds how do we wish to run finals,  As I see it we have 2 options

1) Play 15 Rounds and then have a 2 week final with top 4 knock out.
2) We retain our 8 Team finals meaning we have to have 2 double up rounds. Will mean we combine 12 & 14 and 13 and 15 as this is the easiest way to do manually without upsetting draw in UF. Alternatively could do the double ups earlier eg Rds 4 and 14 and 8 and 15 to clear before final rounds

Comments on both welcome.

No issue with final lock out at the start of saturday's games, assuming captains are locked prior to the first game of the round.

Personally, I'd prefer to do 15 standard rounds and 2 rounds of finals as opposed to playing double rounds as well.

Just to confirm the intention is that captains are locked at start of round and this is specified in team lodgements.

OK so we get to the situation where we now have byes.

Uf still to list their intentions.

So we need to decide what to do for our comp.

Bear in mind we have to conclude our comp by Rd 15.

Initially I thought of this
Blues, Hawks, Dockers and Eagles have the Rd 10 bye so we rake the Rd 11 scores into Rd 1o and so on through the byes.

This works for this block of games but the question comes what if we have byes in Rds 15, 16 and 17 and what if Bombers/Dees game is not competed by Rd 15 as well.
Not ideal but my thoughts are that Rd 15 doubles up and players still to be given value from previous rounds will be given the Rd 15 score ot in the case of players not playing Rd 15 score of last game played.
Should a team have a bye in Rd 16 first Rd of Finals players Rd 15 score be used. Hope that byes are sorted by thwn but who knows.

Feel free to add to discussion but we will need to resolve prior to Rd 10.

So for the Blues, Hawks, Dockers, Eagles players in round 10, we just use their Round 11 score for both Rounds 10 and 11?

Yep that is it simplified.

Sounds good to me, much prefer that to double game weeks.

Will probably have to do this type of thing multiple times for byes for the rest of the year as well.

Giants/Swans have a bye in Round 11, so Id assume we'd use their Round 12 scores for Round 11 and 12 as well.

To compensate for not knowing for certain whether players are going to play a week in advance, would it be possible to get an extra couple of emergencies to compensate?

That is the proposal for byes but as I said in original post problem will be if players have bye in Rd 15 and Dees and Bombers match not played. But will cross that bridge when that batch of fixtures is released,

Ringo

OK UF have announced some of their changes and here is their graphic for Rds 9-12

We will be following their lockouts for Rds 9 - 12.  UF have stated that bye players will not receive a score,

So to rectify for our our comp these changes will apply fro Rds 10 & 11

Rd 10 - Blues, Hawks. Eagles and Dockers have a bye and their Rd 11 score will also count as their Rd 10 score.

Rd 11 - Swans and Giants with byes and their Rd 12 score will also count as their Rd 11 score.

Will advise any other changes when next Rd of fixtures announced.

Ringo

Awaiting what UF decide with the announcement of fixtures

Ok looks like we will have a full Final Round of Fixtures for Rd 17 and 18 which will be the finals.  The delayed Bombers Dees Game scheduled for Rd 18 so at this stage thinking  that if UF allow taking scores from RD 15 and then adding the bye players from Rd 15 Geelong, Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs to Rd 15 and the Essendon and Bombers scores from Rd 16 to Rd 4.  All open to discussion.
