This submission format would be lovely,

Player #1, Player #2, Player #3... as required
Letters Used:
Unused Letters:

and a tip for Friday Night as a tiebreaker:

Any chance I can get a random consonant for one of my 3 Qs, and 2 for Koop as well since he has 4, considering there's only 2 surnames involving a Q in the league?

I'm pretty sure we're all going to take a fairly big hit to points with letters left over.

Gigantor

This is flowering hard haha

Feel like the ratio of Vowels to Consonants is too low, might be looking at a negative score with the amount letters I'll have left haha

Holz

so what happens if we spell out a player who does not play?

do we take the unused tiles hit or do we just get a zero?

Nige

I've already discussed this off-site with Ryno but this minigame, while a sick concept, probably needs to be refined in future.

The 45C/15V ratio is pretty harsh. I had a 33/7 split of leftover tiles as an example. That was partially because of the random vowel set I got that included only 1 A and 1 E, but that's part of the fun of the game.

Also, the point penalty for leftover tiles is ridiculously harsh.

For future running of this minigame, I'd like to see a slight increase in the number of tiles maybe like 50C/25V, and also a reduced penalty for the unused letters as I'm not sure starting with a negative score and having to fight your way back to 0 is a great idea. Something like 10 for vowels and 5 for consonants could be a little more appropriate.

As I said, I still really like the concept, so this isn't me showerting on the idea, just would like to see it more fine-tuned.

Well, yeah, but we're already at a disadvantage with letters we can't physically use, that's not fair.

I got 2 Qs and 4 Zs.

In future, and something I forgot to mention in my post above, is that maybe the randomly generated tiles could be slight more weighted or something. In Scrabble (as someone who has played a flowerton of Scrabble in their time), rarer letters are worth more points but there are also less of them. There are heaps of vowels in the game but they're only worth the 1 point.

Again, using my sets as an example. 1 E, but then 6 Qs and Zs combined seems a little too unbalanced. The random aspect is an important part of the game, but it can still be random and have this issue fixed.

Holz

got to say this might be the best minigame ever

I think the ratio actually holds up, but perhaps the number of letters received is a little low hence a greater amount of leftovers.

fanTCfool

I considered removing Q's and Z's altogether, but everyone received at least a couple of them I believe. Likewise I considered 'tailoring' the sets to contain some more 'compatible' letters, but it's not entirely realistic to handcraft every single set with this small amount of time before the footy kicks off this weekend.

fanTCfool

I do concede that the penalty is way too great for unused letters. If it was well received, I would be open to lowering the penalty from 50 and 25 to 5 and 2.5 respectively, perhaps then we'd be getting scores that could fall onto the positive side of zero?

Nige

I think 5 and 2.5 is a much better option for the penalty.

I got 2 Qs and 4 Zs.
But there's 15 Zs in player's surnames in the league, so you're not already starting with a negative score, unlike us with more than 2 Qs
