Superfooty reports Carlton will select Matt Owies (102k m/f) for his first game this weekend

Sounds like they are looking at him to play a small forward pressuring role, so not sure that's ideal for SC, but at this stage we'll take anything we can get!

Ideally plays a few rounds and becomes the m/f loop/link?

Hayes/Scott to Owies to open up the link at M11 and bring in a fallen prem with M/F to cover both lines certainly sounds like it's on the cards

Heck I might even aim for a prem fwd and Heeney can be the cover, the way he's going  :'(

Was thinking the same, makes perfect sense if people are targeting Gray for M9/F7

I can't see Matt Owies getting a game this year, but it is Carlton so anything is possible.

Sloane was on AFL360 and seemed very confident that he should be good to go this weekend

He said he needs to pass a few more tests tomorrow still, but is feeling really good and has done everything required this week

Sounding promising, fingers crossed

The sonner he's on the park the better for those looking at grabbng him for under 500k, De Boer won't make life easier either.
