Might be forced to trade Gibbons instead of Atkins if Gawn/Grundy VC goes big and need a loophole. (Assuming Atkins doesn’t play).

I could be wrong, but I don't think many rucks monster Hickey - Gawn will get him around the ground but I'm definitely going Grundy VC and then I'll assess C if need be

In a surprise move, Tom Hickey will make his return from injury through the WAFL for the Eagles Reserves side against East Perth tonight.

Hickey has missed the past two matches with a hamstring complaint but starred in his most recent outing against Geelong in Round 6.

Simpson said the club had concerns about Hickey’s ability to sustain a whole game as a ruckman following a hamstring injury.

It means Nathan Vardy will be entrusted to carry the ruck load against star Melbourne big man Max Gawn.

Preuss has travelled to Perth as emergency (AFL360). Can’t see anywhere that there is doubt on Gawn but just make sure to keep an eye on late changes. Could affect his score if a late in for someone.

At least it's the first game, so a chance to get in a swing replacement... I it were to happen, CCJ named would be ideal, but very unlikely with Soldo starting. Otherwise, could do worse than getting Lobb with a low BE
