Is he the real deal? Priced @ $438 so very cheap but i just want to make sure he is going to be top 6/10?

Is his scores depended on being the only ruck?

Im just working out weather to get him or spend the $70k more and get Kelly?

Just not sure much about Marshall

Proven scorer as 1st Ruck. If he loses that you are in trouble. If he keeps it you should get plenty of points.

The time to buy Marshall was weeks ago, you've gotta pay the extra 70k for someone like Tim Kelly who is a much safer pick that will surely finish a top 6 forward if he stays fit.

I got marshall weeks ago and then he missed a game.  So not yet working out for me.  My decision was based on POD with potential to be top 6/10 that helped my bye structure.  Still optimistic and long way to go.     If I was buying now,  may still make same decision as Kelly exposes me to donut in r13 bye.    Alternatives are billings >, dogs fwd/mids ??? or Westhoff.   Not a lot on offer in the fwds.

If he was a fwd/ruck he'd be a lock but as a pure fwd I'd prefer Kelly over him

Agree

Still too unproven at this stage. Was worth bringing him in before his price rises but would rather spend the extra money on a proven fwd

Main concern with him is that he's scored well again some teams with lousy rucks (Essendon, Freo, GWS since Mumford is kind of over the hill) and got towelled up by Gawn. He did go well against McEvoy though.

I can't really talk though, because I'm bringing in a hobbit (Caleb Daniel) who normally averages like 78 points per game.

Scalps so far - Bellchambers, Lobb, McEvoy & Mumford. That's certainly not the worst in the comp.

If he throws in a 50-60 against Gawn and Grundy and 90-100+ against everyone else is still a good pick.

That said I'm not bringing him in, have 5 prem forwards already and will re-assess at the byes who the last spot will go to.

Could've got Boak but went Marshall. flower it, gotta roll the dice every now & then. And his scoring has been pretty amazing so far.

good to see you looking on the brightside.   Boak would have been better,  though you me and a couple of others are going to reap the reward from Marshall as he pumps out consistent scores while others live with the ups and downs of every body else they could have got.   hope I haven't jinxed him.

Sole rucks who have forward status are gold, that's why Marshall was a good bet from the beginning. With all the inconsistencies of everyone bar Boak, a flatliner like Marshall is the perfect anchor. I expect by season's end Marshall will be in the top 10 forwards, don't think he maintains the 100 average but 90-95 is perfectly acceptable.
