moore>kelly  or Laird,  leaning to Kelly
Butters>Hayes
following week  Constable>Merrett/Laird/Heeney  and another downgrade.

I can only afford Collins to T. Kelly/Laird if I go Constable to Hayes. Constable is M9 for me (Walsh M8, Scott and Stack on bench).

Otherwise, I'm still strongly considering dropping one of B Crouch/Brayshaw to Hayes because they're not doing it for me (brings Constable on field)... Would give me enough cash to upgrade Collins to T. Kelly/Laird and still afford a downgrade/upgrade next week too.

Any thoughts on these moves?
Well knowing your luck this year LH, whoever you decide to get will immediately turn into a potato.

But if I were you I'd do Collins > Laird/Kelly (depending on your rookie structure) and Constable > Hayes.

Constable will still increase in price, however his BE is 37 so it won't be too dramatic, probably caps out at 350k which means you only miss 50k. And the fact that he's your M9 makes his scoring irrelevant.
I don't like the idea of trading Crouch or Brayshaw at this stage. Crouch was ripped off this week, 30 disposals and 11 clearances for only 80-odd points, and Melbourne is currently rock-bottom and can only improve from here, improvement which will be carried by Gawn, Brayshaw and Oliver. Plus you want to be getting rookies off the field at this time of the year.

Cheers buddy. So which of Laird/Kelly does everyone want me to curse?

I took Kelly so go Laird so i can get him next week a bit cheaper LH.

R Gray to Boak
Scrimshaw to Laird/Rich/Ryan/Stewart.

Can't decide on who to bring in. Rich will probably burn me but he's so cheap.

Finally got an excuse to trade Gray. Now I'll probably curse Boak :)

Walsh should go before Libba, he has a BE of 68 so doesn't have a huge amount of petrol in the tank. This is about the time when first year guys start to flounder. Libba fine for M8 or M9.

Understand you're probably looking for excuses to cash him in, but Walsh still had 27 touches on the weekend (similar to his R1 & R2 game).

He has been incredibly consistent and has set a new benchmark for 18 year olds in their first year, so surely he deserves a bit more faith that he'll bounce back with a few more 110-120s.

He won't outscore Fyfe & that's the bottom line, given upgrading to Fyfe will only cost 100k I'm fully prepared to jump early. Walsh is a gun but so too was Joel Selwood, Brett Deledio, Clayton Oliver, Dustin Martin etc. Breaking the 80 barrier is exceptionally tough for first year players, Walsh will hit his BE this week but beyond that it's a real a lottery. As for the exceptions, O'Meara would be the only bloke in the conversation but bear in mind he sat a year out of footy so was effectively a second year player.

GoLions

Probably just Atkins to Hayes for me this week.

Ringo

Looking at these options:

Option 1 Atkins to Hayes

Option 2 - Wilkie to Young and Collins to Rich

Option 3 - Moore to Corbett early and Collins to Laird means playing one of Corbett Petracelle at F6.

Leaning slightly to 2 with Rich maintaining form for first 6 rounds and will be sound for D6.  Only concern would be if teams tried to put a semi forward tag on him as we know he has difficulty with the tag.

B.

Atkins- Hayes
Constable- FYFE

Yeah what i'm saying is I don't think you can compare any of those guys in their first year - Walsh is literally setting a new benchmark.

Oliver & Martin didn't have the tank to run out games in the midfield
Selwood didn't get as many minutes on the ball since Geelong already had a superstar midfield at the time (Ablett, Bartel, Corey, Kelly, Ling etc.)
Deledio was thrown around everywhere in the early stages of career, whether it be forward, back etc.

Walsh gets maximum midfield time with the best contested midfielder in the game. The situation couldn't be more perfect for him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him score 120+ this weekend against North, who leak points to opposition mids when Ben Jacobs isn't playing.

Replacing Scrimshaw, Duursma, Drew, Parker, Baker etc. on field with Sicily, Laird, Hurn, Boak, Kelly, Ryan types should be more urgent in my opinion. Also if you're still fielding Constable, I'd punt him for Fyfe first.

We'll see, I remember Ollie Wines bursting out of the blocks & he stalled as the season progressed. Gut says trade but we'll see what happens this week, all decisions contingent on BEs of course.

As for the guys you've mentioned, they too will be in the firing line in due course, although Drew will find his way to M9 eventually. I just don't think Walsh will maintain this average & I'm happy to take the money and run once he edges over 450k. Might lose 50k in earnings but Fyfe will make 50k so nothing to lose. Would trade Constable first but highly unlikely I'll have the funds to get him up to Fyfe, my aim over the next 3 weeks will be 3 upgrades & this fits perfectly with my funds available.

Which option is better?

Cousins - Answerth/Hayes
Atkins - T Kelly

Or

Scrimshaw - Answerth
Cousins - Fyfe

If I go with Fyfe means Answerth & Burgess will be my D7 and D8

2nd option better with overall points but weak Def bench but with Adams out means improved JS of Answerth. His spot to lose I guess....
