3 weeks in a row with no HGA? Can I please get someone to check the draw?

Draw for 2019 - Mirror reversed of 2018 draw

Ringo

Just a note with draws and anyone who does them will agree that it is virtually impossible to do a draw with home then away and continuing.
All teams have a balance between home and away games but may get 3 home and three away in a row. In Rids case he had 3 home games in a row last year and with mirror reversing the fixtures this year which is common practice they now become 3 away games. If you are to look at the draw you have 3 home games in a row from Rds 11 - 13 to balance.

On the HGA discussion.......

I agree Ringo draws are a tedious and time consuming thing to do, especially with respect to achieving a fair balance for all.
Just curious here though, why would you not use UF to do this, then if tweaks are required then do them manually. It seems a much easier way to go about it (afterall admins already have so much work to do) and would be very unlikely to end up with a run of either 3 home or away games in a row.

Having said all that, personally l am against HGA anyway ........l just think they're a nonsense.

UF lists me as the away team 11 out of 12 weeks, I think I'll take Ringo's draw instead. As long as everyone gets the same number of home games, does it really matter if they're all in a row or spaced out?

UF has some vagaries behind their draw as well. I uploaded our draw with HGA team first and after accepting went back and certain games the order was reversed. So still have to do the manual draw anyway.
With excel not really that difficult using draw maker and then adjusting to ensure equal spread and home and away games. Then mirror reversing draw each year makes it easy.

3 in a row is still 1 too many imo especially this early in the season. We have been lucky enough to win the first 2 match ups but it could heavily influence early ladder positions. Getting 3 in a row later in the season is fine to level it out but there is also increased risk of injuries etc to the squad. I understand that it comes down to luck at the end of the day in regards to personnel and availability but we should be aiming for a little fairer draw especially if it is done manually anyways.

I tend to agree with Nostra about HGA. I just don't see the need for it in the season proper really. I don't mind it in the finals however as it advantages the team that finished higher on the ladder. But at the end of the day I don't mind if it is there. Was more trying to work out how 3 in a row occurs so early in the season. It is not in any way having a pot shot but more a question to try and get clarity.
