Not sure why you want to drop off Brodie Smith, but Fyfe to Libba & Clark to Lloyd in a few weeks sounds a very smart trade. Just bank the money & focus on other areas that need addressing.

I find it strange you're such a big advocate of trading a certain Top 5 midfielder in Fyfe, but not a dicey midpricer in Smith (For the record, I see benefits to trading both).

A 320K+ defender really needs to be a keeper and Smith is looking way off the standard for mine. Does anyone honestly think he will still finish the season as a Top 6 defender?

We all picked him with an understanding that he had a monopoly on the kick-ins at the Crows and would consequently benefit from the new rules, but Gibbs was taking them all in the Cats game. Therefore, what is the point of persisting with him? He doesn't win his own ball and is a significant risk to go completely missing for large periods during games.

I don't see any problem with cutting our losses now if it helps bring in Lloyd or Whitfield (certain Top 6 defenders).

Happy to have a bloke to average 80 right up until the byes, in fact happy to keep Smith for the season & plonk him at D7. Concerns are the rookies, the sooner I can get them off the park the better. I also think Smith has more cash to make, ceiling very high so a couple of big games & he hits 450k.

Fair enough, but what about someone who has 200-300k in the bank right now?

If they cash in a Drew/Setterfield/Scott type, they would only be able to afford a midpricer or (at best) an uncertain top 6/8 premium.

If they cash in Smith, they can go straight to one of the "must-have" players you identified in the upgrade targets thread.

When you consider those two scenarios, saying goodbye to Smith now seems to result in a better outcome for mine.

The fact I have two first year players at D5 & D6 makes the case more urgent, restings coming up, even a slight drop in form makes their position precarious. Clark/Duursma to Lloyd is planned & will be executed after 2 more price rises. I'll probably then swing Moore back to completely seal defence at least up until the bye period.

Don’t have to worry about Gibbs stealing the kickouts now ;)

Lloyd is clearly a must have player, bit the bullet and did Smith -> Lloyd.

Lol, Smith will ton up

I've just realised we won't know if Gibbons is out until tomorrow. Does anyone think Gibbons to Wagner is worth a look? I'm happy to trade fairly aggressively to make cash early doors, but also obviously don't want to find myself with Wagner next week if he's dropped!

goldstien/bsmith > mumford/Lloyd
180-190 v 210-220    15 rounds at 30points a round = 450 points better off.

Is this too sideways or good move.   cannot get lloyd unless I downgrade goldy
bugger, gibbs out,  smith probably get more kick ins and good for another 10+ points or so.   Does not change the overall premise but probably covers the cost of holding for another week.

Hold I reckon - rookies are rookies, they all have good and bad games.

You planned D5, D6 this way - did you really expect things to look different already?

Not at all, I'm pretty comfortable with how things are traveling but trading Brodie Smith hasn't even entered my mind.

Greene to Marshall is done.
Never again Greene.... made out of glass.
Make it pay Marshall...less than 1% ownership. Sink or swim on this one.

Good to see, Marshall at least makes some coin, would be happy with any score north of 80.
