Still got Hore sitting at D8, 27 trades left, trying to work out if Hore to Lockhart is worth a trade. Hore being the travelling emergency shows he's in the mix at the moment, but with guys like Lewis and May returning within the next 3 weeks, that probably pushes him further down the pecking order. Lockhart, I assume, would be keeping out players like Spargo, who is a travelling emg too, and Garlett, but both are returning from injury this week so 1 bad game and that could be Lockhart dropped, which would make the trade a waste if it's in the coming weeks. Tough call.

I think you've summed it up perfectly, which is why I wouldn't touch Lockart, and just hope another def rookie pops up soon enough

Use Hore to loop where you can until another rookie pops up

Yeah I kinda convinced myself when writing hahah, the lack of cash gen will be annoying but better than wasting a trade

Thinking Fyfe/dusty to Whitfield/libba, leaves me with 200k, next week rookie to stack and hopefully gives me enough to grab a mid prem

It really depends on a number of factors such as whether you are going for overall or just interested in leagues, how many trades you have already used up, what rookies you have, the structure of your team, etc.

If you do pull the trigger and you are too rookie dependent in defence, then if you still have the likes of Hore or even Burgess in defence, you can offload one of them next week for Stack using the DPP. You are most likely using Duursma to get Whitfield in so you can just use him again to get Stack in and offload the Def rookie. Your structure improves, you get what looks like two keepers and you offload a rookie that's a waste of space in your team.
Yep that’s the exact process I’m looking at
50/50 for mine. Not sure if I would rather spend the extra $200 to get Libba to better chance of a keeper straight off the bat. Don't get me wrong Libba is a great investment for scoring & cash gen but maybe not so much for the trades remaining column. Unless of course we really believe he is gonna put out 20+ games & be a top 16 MID. I am certainly not gonna trade him out anytime soon & I hope he is a keeper but hmmmm a 20+ game top 16 MID? Like one of the footy shows on TV said about Craig Bellamy & his opinions on the start of the season. The first 6 rounds are all sh**s & giggles & then starts the grind.

Reckon the Fyfe to Libba trade is a smart play. Worst case scenario is he makes 70k, best case scenario he averages 105 & becomes a legitimate starter on the field. At the moment the rookie situation is looking dire, can't see anyone suddenly becoming a saviour so I'll have to find the funds from elsewhere. This trade puts 220k in the bank and puts me one step closer to a Collins/Clark to Lloyd trade.
I got no qualms with the trade (qualms lol, is that even a word?) My opinion is if you didn't start with Libba is he worth it vs. trades in the long run? AKA 20+ games top16 MID (Hell, he aint even top 2 MID at the Bullies).

McInerney named for Sydney, so could be an early solution if he keeps his spot. With McVeigh out for a while he might be given a good crack at it

He's listed as a DEF, but I think I read he's been playing as a mid, so I'm not sure he is actually coming in to replace McVeigh so to speak. Guess we'll just have to wait and see, but hopefully he goes well because he would be a very handy downgrade option

McVeigh out might ensconce Mills and Jones in the backline as well, if McInerney is to be given a run in the mids *fingers crossed*. Handy timing for a down/up

With DEF status Jones if def a D6 candidate. Angry little ant tho. Not sure I wanna combine him with Sic. Being a dummy spitter is not easy to shake. If it's in ya, yeah, well.

Does anyone have any advice for trades this week? I have 160k in the bank

frenzy

you could have issues in DEF this week. So I would downgrade Fyfe to Brouch or Sheed and turn Wilke or Duursma in a Brodie Smith

Seriously? You're basically advising him to trade a keeper to a midfield midpricer unlikely to finish Top 10 and a rookie to a midpricer unlikely to be a Top 8 defender.

I'm actually tempted to trade Brodie Smith out

Yuck

Team is fine - hold trades

If Wilkie and McKay are both dropped though, might need to bring in Lockart to avoid a donut

+1 for terrible advice.

Ringo

Agree team is fine - Wait for team announcements and if necessary then adjust rookies to avoid a donut.
You have coverage to cover Fyfe as Scott not the worst. However if you feel necessary to trade Fyfe then you can get any mid you want. Macrae the obvious choice but with a B/e of 138 not essential this week but up to you.

If you have less than 26 trades or less hold.

I would hold for now and wait for teams, but if you wanted to trade you can trade Fyfe to Libba and then one of your defender rookies to Tom Stewart. That would leave you with a solid backline of 4 keepers, a solid mid, with a bit of work still to do with your fwds.

Oh Okay, sorry kid, forget I spoke. How ya like ya donuts. Geez don't have an opinion. Only said what I would do, doesn't mean it's correct.

And what did you suggest, DONUTS
