I ain’t going anywhere near the trade button after last weeks debacle! Surely Greene plays. The coach stated he wanted to play last week, but they were being cautious with him. Although who can trust GWS when it comes to injuries.

Was wondering if I could get some help here with what to do with this mess of a team.

B - Williams, Smth, Moore, Scrimshaw, Clark, Durrsma (Wilkie, Burgess)

M - Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, Neale, Fyfe, M.Crouch, Walsh, Constable (LDU, Scott, Atkins)

R - Gawn, Grundy (Bines)

F - Dangerfield, Heeney, Dunkley, Setterfield, Drew, Parker (Petruccelle, Balta)

$7,900 in the kittty.

These are the trades I am thinking of -

1. Dunkley > Rozee and Balta > Miers ($189,000 in the kitty)

2. Dunkley > Rozee and Atkins > Libba

3. Atkins\Scott > Stack and Dunkley > Boak

4. Oliver\Fyfe > Whitfield via Duursma and Dunkley > Boak

4th option is a bit ballsy, but feel like I really need Whitfield back there.

Any other options that I'm missing?  ???

Trading Oliver or Fyfe is just crazy talk, and you've missed the boat on Rozee too

I think you need a D1 so trade LDU/Scott whoever to Stack, and turn Dunkley into Whitfield (move Moore fwd)

Don't panic though, a lot can change in a week - just don't go dropping proven prems and chasing points

I like this one, JM. Fyfe will miss some, and will not be scoring at 100% whenever he comes back. Give yourself 2 chances at low risk, decent value keepers, which the other 2 really never were.

If Fyfe misses he must be traded IMO, he has the 60 in his rolling average & will more than likely have a slowish first game back. Price should hit 550k so can be brought back in if need be. This isn't so much about chasing points, it' about generating cash & shielding the side from under performing rookies.

Definitely agree that I need a D1 like Whitfield RD. My backs are thin without someone like him back there.

If Fyfe were to miss a couple would you entertain the idea of trading him out for Whitfield and trading out Dunkley for Boak?  ???

I'm warming up to this one too.

Fyfe could drop to low $500,000's in a few weeks so could always bring him back in when he bottoms out for Walsh\Constable\LDU.

Kinda of sorts out 2 problems as well since I get a top 2 back and top 3 forward into my team.

I like the way my team looks with these trades, way better structured imo.

Same mate, I think they are solid trades for my team.

Felt like I made a massive mistake in not starting one of Lloyd\Whitfiled and got sucked into starting Dunkley due to the garbage Bevo was saying that Dunkley would play midfield and McLean forward all year. What a load of shower!  >:(

Millsy999

Dusty to Libba for my first trade of the year. Was going to do Dusty to Rockliff last week, glad I didn't!
Keeping my powder dry on everything else. Neale and Lloyd the upgrade targets once some cows start to moo.

The other point about this strategy is you don't have to rely on a price drop that may never come, I'm thinking back to Docherty a couple of seasons back. Mids are a dime a dozen & there will be plenty of bargains over the course of the season. Confidence level is high when it comes to both Whitfield & Boak, both are also on the cheap side for their output.

Wise words.  8)

It would be tough enough to get Lloyd in let alone both Lloyd and Whitfield and I just don't want to have that kind of headache for weeks on end.

Think I need to grab another forward next and a cheap Laird. Smith will end up being Lloyd at some point.

Nige

At this stage I'm planning:

Taranto -> Libba
Dusty -> Neale

Feels like both the wrong and right thing to do.

Been looking at options all day for Dusty.

Have decided it's best to get a defender for him as I only have two premo defenders.

Dusty > Milera via Drew, Moore.

Bye friendly, up and comer with a chance at top 6.

I'll still will have room for Lloyd, Whitfield and Laird.

edit: After a little more thought, could wait a week for Laird to drop so I can afford him and just bench Dusty.

Ringo

Waiting for teams to see if Fyfe plays - If he does not then he may have to be traded as would have to play 4 rookies although scoring well 4 out of Walsh, Butters, Constable, Scott or Atkins. A risk.

If Fyfe Plays thinking 2 options:

Simmo to Whitfield and Dusty to M Crouch -

or for cash
Dusty to Libba who will be M8 if form continues and Simmo to Lloyd

enzedder

Looked at trades and think it's best to do nothing this week.
If Greene doesn't play then I will reassess.
