This one seems to be going around in circles in the forwards thread so let's get a poll going.

For those suckers like me with Toby Greene, are you trading this week or holding?

Arguments for trading this week:
He might miss more than just one more week. It's GWS and Toby Greene... you never know!
Even if he plays in a fortnight, who's to say he won't be managed multiple other times during the season?
There's also a suspension risk.

Arguments for holding:
Potential top 6 forward for a very cheap price - only those that can afford the jump to Worpel are getting similar value.
Trades are very valuable.

Let me know if you've got any other good arguments. If you're trading him, who are you getting? Worpel, Rozee, Kelly?

Parker and Drew look to be decent scoring rookies and for this week can use Greene as a loophole for Setters/Petrucelle.

Probably will hold another week.

This is pretty much the conclusion I've gotten to, may as well hold this week.

I guess at least the club is being cautious, so hopefully he's 100% when he gets back out there. The Giants forward line just isn't the same without him, so I'm still backing him in to have a big year.

Traded to Worpel last week when he did not travel to WA

Something i have considered is if you move him out this week and say he misses another week (these are big ifs)

if you trade him this week then your going to get 3 price rises from your rookies. I know he isnt a fwd but LDU from North could be a good example.

Greene to LDU sticks 160k in the bank

LDU over the next few weeks (even if he just puts up 65) will go up about 100k to 290k.

Now if Greene comes back in his second game and looks real good then you can always bgring him back in for just 60k. If he doesnt come back then you can use that 160k to turn LDU into a fallen premo (Im thinking Buddy)

So thats 2 trades to turn Greene into a premo its not a horrible move. This also assumes LDU doesnt score that well.

Thats a complicated way of saying if we dump him to a rookie then you will get at least 2 price rises from that rookie and you can always bring greene back in if he drops say 120 next week.

This.
Allows me to focus on other trades I see as more important too.

That's two trades for $100k though. I don't like that...

Loopholing for the week. Couldnt afford any options i deemed better

SydneyRox

Traded out after rnd 1 and glad I did!

Enjoyed the extra points from boak!!

Money Shot

Holding and getting the rookies I want this week and can loophole him.

Can always trade him next week to a premium after rookies have went up in price if he isn’t named again.

AN1611

Got all the right rooks (apart from LDU) so he's my only pressing concern.

Will be going to Worpel so I can hold onto 100k for the next midpricer that fails

I already have Worpel in my fwd line so trading Greene is a little tricky. Fisher/Newnes/Petriski are really the only options. All averaging high 80's atm, was just wondering what people thought on them?

Speaking with a Carlton coach preseason he said Petriski is the one who’ll increase his output and should play predominantly midfield. That being said his numbers last season were a little short...

#14
Trading Heeney to Kelly means i can get someone like Newman in the backline which is obviously a whole lot better but thats 2 trades instead of one. I did like Petrevski as my #1 option from my cheapies. Of course he'd have to increase his numbers but he has played 2 games and already has a bigger score than he did in the 22 last year.
