Heh, I posted that same article on the previous page last night :)

Sounds promising for sure, but with no real quotes from any coaches it doesn't hold too much weight I guess

Think we can just look at the stats ourselves, tackles, clearances, possessions all elite for a ruckman. Small sample but if he manages another ton he becomes very tough to ignore, could be a season defining trade considering his ownership is 0.5%.
I think the biggest concern is Longer. If he plays he can only play ruck, he is useless anywhere else. He could come in next week to help against Gawn + Preuss after we trade him in and stuff things up.
I haven't got Greene (traded him straight after round 1 to Rozee) but Dunkley has gotta go. Whoever I get will be F3. The 160k plus whatever Marshall makes is very tempting.

If Longer spoils the party then Marshall to Buddy in round 6 very much on the cards, or back to Greene & pocket some change. None of these trades interfere with my other plans given I'm not spending $$, but there's definitely some decent upside so worth the punt.

Not sure whether to get Marshall for him or Worpel. Worpel can potentially be F6 and keeper (F7 at worst). Still undecided on this one  :-\

Worpel is the safer option IMO

Can I hear your reasoning against Marshall?

I might be silly but holding. The last 2 weeks are sunk costs, you can't recover them. Look to the future and weigh up the cost of playing a rook for an extra week then Greene thereafter.

The only rational reason to trade is if you believe he is out for more than one week again, or won't come back in scoring the numbers you thought he would when you picked him preseason

The last two weeks are sunk in terms pf points but Marshall's earnings are there for the taking, with rookies slowing down I'm all over this opportunity. The other problem with holding Greene is that some of the rookies will be close to his price so I'm expecting quite a few to jump on if he fires.
I can understand you're reasoning for Marshall being solo ruck and drift forward here and there. Do you have Worpel? If not, would you get him instead?

very tough draw coming up, and there is the risk of dual rucks which could kill his scoring. got Gawn next week that could be a real danger game for 2 rucks.

upside is clearly there and it could easily be the likely outcome. However the downside while possibly quite unlikely is rather large

Don't have Worpel & don't particularly want him. Reckon his ceiling is limited so when he throws up a stinker it will be mighty tough to claw that average back up. Second year players come with significant risk, Cripps just snuck in a 95 average & he is vastly superior. Think you would be better grabbing the guy who has a very SC friendly role & at worst, pocket 70k in the event he bombs over the next fortnight. If on the other hand he tons up this week you are sitting on a unique player who is averaging 100+ & has a low BE, that could be decisive. Could go either way but even the worst case scenario aint that bad. Buddy should be a sideways in round 6.

Final thoughts on him? Bring him in for Greene?

jfitty

Been pondering this over the last few days. Not going to pull the trigger, just because I started Greene as a keeper and still think he will be.

hawkers65

Nah. Leave him for the people who got on early ;)
